Hi all,

I am wating for my green card to be proccessed (i just received a letter saying i might be exemped from the interview :D) and in the mean time I am looking for work. I have Authorization to work in the US but my card does not grant any type of advanced parole. One of the jobs i am looking at seems perfect for me at the moment in terms of experience needed and all that sort of stuff, they say that the possition may be required to go abroad for short periods of time, it's a camera assistant job so the time abroad would be short with absolutley no need for me having to take up temp residence in another country (like i have seen with other questions here). Should i give this job a miss till I have a green card or does USCIS grant advance parole for work related reasons like this or is it only for emergencies like the loss of a family member?

thanks

Scott

You can get your AP for travel for any reason you wish and you can travel as often as you wish, as long as the AP is valid. If this job is panning out to come through, go ahead and get started on the AP.

Good luck!!

AP is routinely approved for people with a pending I-485. If you had applied for it from the start it would be approved and on your card now.

As is, you can apply now for free and you will get a paper version in around 90 days.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
