Testing & Interview Atlanta 4 Months?

Hello Everyone,

I am on Student visa and I got married to a US citizen. I filed my AOS on Nov 01, 2013 and my online case status changed to "Testing & Interview" on Jan 01, 2014 after all the applications got accepted. I was expecting an interview in 4 months so April 2014 according to the Atlanta office timeline but I haven't even gotten the notice yet. I know notice is mailed a month prior.

When I called USCIS today (04/01/2014) they said they are currently working on AOS that were filed on May 31,2013. (Mine was filed Nov 01,2013)

My passport is expiring in May 2014 but I have my visa valid until 2015. I heard on previous threads that this will not be a problem.

By when do you everyone think I should receive the GC interview according to your understanding? Please give me some hope.

Atlanta is one of the most backlogged offices, so from what I've seen, there is no way to tell. My local office is Atlanta as well, I got my changed to Testing and Interview last week.

I really don't understand how they could still be working on May 2013 cases. Whoever you spoke to could have been just quoting the processing times already listed on the website, which aren't always reliable.

I'm just *hoping* I get my interview sometime in the next 4 months, because we are moving states, and I really don't want to deal with the hassle.

@jomfer,

We both sail on the same boat, but my field office is Oklahoma city. I've had my status remain at testing and interview since December 2013. Please, anyone that has an idea on how long an application can typically remain at this stage should advise. That would help pacify our worries.

That's okay. No pain no gain. We can't do anything about it either so gotta go with the flow. But, my life is REALLY getting messed up because of this delay.

You mentioned that your passport is going to expire. You can go to your home country's consulate to renew it if you want. Luckily my wife's country has a consulate in Atlanta, so it was easy. Hopefully your country has a consulate in Atlanta.

Hello Friends,

Just wanted to give you all a little hope. I have my interview on June 6, 2014 at the Atlanta office. I applied for AOS on Nov 1, 2013 and my case status had changed to "Testing and Interview" on Dec 31, 2013. Finally, my interview is after a month now.

Hope everyone gets their interview soon as well.
