Processing Time Question!!!!

Hi everyone,

We filed on June 17th 2013 and have not received an approval yet. On March 7th we received RFE, to my surprise the request was a for a passport size photo which I already included in the file initially. I am wondering why would they need that if they already had it? Were they buying more time - I am not sure.. We sent that right away.

They have mentioned in the letter that it can take 60 days. Does anyone know how long does it take usually after the RFE is submitted? We are already past the average processing time, is there any way to expedite our case or know what's happening with it. The people over the phone are just reading off the website and don't have any additional information. I have read some posts where people have sent letters to their local senator to escalate this. Can I do that or will it prolong the process.

Please shed some light if you have any insight on such situation.

Whaattt? I look at your timeline and you are also Vermont. Now, I am worried that my husband's i-130 will take that long like yours. My friend who filed feb.10 received an RFE 2 weeks ago so it means that Texas service center already touch her application.

My case was transferred from Vermont to Nebraska in December, so I don't know how that impacts the timeline.

Send them what they want ASAP. At least with an RFE someone is looking at your file and the sooner you get them what they want, even if it was originally included, the better. Who really cares if you sent it originally, just send it again and be done!

I sent what was needed right away the very next day, I just hope that it doesn't take 2 more months before I get the approval.

Just respond to it, smell like someone tackle your papers rather than not. That is the same thing happen to our case after 6 months of waiting RFE came up the next day i sent out overnight whatever it takes maybe

With you sending what they requested for in the RFE, you get an approval in about 21days.

Says who? It's possible for it to be adjudicated tomorrow or not for 6 months or more. Where do you get 21 days until approval?
