Some songs (those by Susan Ashton, Lisa Bevill, Michelle Tumes, or SC Chapman) have excellent lyrics/beat (which I can play much of the day).

yeah, one of my co-workers has on some praise and worship .... i'm a christian, but this style of music gets right under my skin :bonk:

I have a co worker that is always forcing the bible down my throat. I am muslim!

I feel like she dont respect me at all.

we were at a company function and I brought one of my other friends as a guest. she would not stop cramming the bible in our face.

Has your coworker ever heard of TRACTS?. I have given them to (at least nominally) Muslim coworkers before, saying "you decide whether to proceed further":

  • one, Pak-"Pigtowner" (Urdu speaker, born in Karachi; emigrated to Canada) took home and read
  • other, Turk, no interest in any religion (agnostic)--didn't even look at the tract

depends on the music... its not all the same...

i tend to like artists... for one, i love the group Acappella ...

so, i cant vote really... cuz the first part, none of the answers suit me

but, if you are at work, its not really acceptable to have that playing loudly enough to bother a coworker... she/he should be more considerate

that's a really good idea ... then if they are interested or have questions later, they'll come back to you.

we've got a special working condition, though ... about 5 people in a room with no cubicle walls. we have to kind of take turns listening to the radio, and we have it up so that everyone can hear on purpose. so, i don't have anything against her for playing it (in fact, she's doing it again today, but i'm in a much better mood today!).

i grew up listening exclusively to christian music ... so a lot of it has good memories for me.

For music at work, solutions are all-too-easy: connect headphones to computer and put master Volme control and Wave at level 3.

I've found this is good for webcasts (which some radio stations have) as well as MP-3 files and CD's.

(and I actually copied a bundle of MP-3 files to the hard drive and created a custom playlist which i then do "continuous shuffle". When I have to call a number with "hold muzak", then I put the headphones on to cover and crank those volumes to level 4).

I have a couple of his early recordings. Here's his website: http://www.rockymountainministries.org/

I enjoy some Christian praise and worship music, but a lot I find to be unsatisfying....I have rather high standards when it comes to the theological content of the lyrics.

I enjoy most christian music... but I hate christian rock music and the local christian station plays that more than anything else. I don't much like 'regular' rock music either - I like my songs to have words I can understand and a tune I can sing... I've been listening to country music more for that reason.

Agree with you on this one--I've basically used the guide, "if I have to mentally slow the lyrics to understand, I probably shouldn't be listening", which pushed me towards country.
