He will do a lot of talking, some blustering and throw in a few empty threats, but yes nothing else.

But Russia crossing the eastern border is where the red line should have meant something. As I said from the beginning, even a threat of military conflict would not have deterred Putin in Crimea, but it would have stopped him from crossing into eastern Ukraine.

Now who knows.

0bowma has written his legacy and his name will be forever listed in the dictionary of naivete.

What has the Ukrainian army done about that? Have they responded to the invasion?

It's not our problem. Obama is doing the right thing. Let the Ukrainian people work it out. They aren't part of Nato and unless there are people being massacred, genocide of ethnic Ukrainians or people being shipped off to gulags in Siberia in don't think it is in the United States best interest to get involved.

Russia has very little impact on us, especially economically. The only reason why they are considered a super power is because they have nukes. It's definitely not because of their economic prowess. They are a petrol State and if they can't sell their oil bc of sanctions I suspect we will be seeing bread lines in the near future.

If there will be another cold war, the only people that will be freezing are the Russians. Obama is doing the right thing. Diplomacy is NOT where you begin, but where you end up :)

Really? Seriously? Is this what you're getting from the White House press briefings, 0bama's mouth, and John Kerry? If they want the Ukranian people to work it out, then maybe they should just shut up. Doncha think?

You should tell that to those who are feigning outrage and claiming the POTUS is not doing anything...

I think that actions should have consequences. The western allies should start by removing Russia from the UN Security Council and send them packing.

Hmm no I haven't watched any white house press briefings. That was my opinion. You got a problem with that?

It's pitiful to watch impotency in action, especially when they get beat up by a bully. He's got nothin. He's on record for being in the 21st century. His foreign policy chapter is complete.

Ukraine's army is along deployed along the eastern border. They were never seriously thinking of acting in Crimea. If Russia crosses the eastern borders, there will be a serious escalation in this conflict.

Thang God soviet soldiers left Poland in 1993 or else Putin would invade Poland to give safety to its citizens.

Or the soldiers would ask to have Poland joining the Russian Federation.

Yes and that is what the West is doing. It's not the type of response that Neocons want but the military option is not in play so I guess that leaves sanctions which is a gradual noose tighten process.

I'm hawkish only when it comes down to our nations interests and in the case of genocide but there are numerous heavy non military options on the table. One of them could be expanding the missle defense systems in former eastern bloc nations and the Baltics

The Russian army is not in eastern Ukraine AFAIK. That would be an act of war which the Ukrainian army will respond to.

The Russian army was already in Crimea. They have a base there. If the troops were moving around outside of there mandate, it is something they could disguise. They can't do that in Donetsk.

Impotency in action? Sounds like some geriatric porno.

So uh what do you propose we do? The US alone is that what you are advocating? Because your fake outrage is just killing me.

Would it be a Nato response? Wait Ukraine isn't part of Nato. Would it be a EU response?

More correctly, it should not have been our problem. We should not have been involved in the first place and then we wouldn't be in a position of trying to stop what should never have happened.

The peoples of Ukraine were perfectly capable of making a decision on there future for themselves. We gave a little push, and the house of cards came down. Now Putin's playing no limit hold-em, and Obama's yelling "go fish".

Regardless, if there is anything anyone can do, it should begin with the home team. The last thing we need is to get involved in another war over a country that does not want us there in the first place.

How would they do that? Russia can veto there own removal.
