What America should do is send all of their criminals over the border to Mexico and see how they like those apples when the role is reversed..

Isn't that where American criminals usually attempt to run to?

i'd imagine having lots of money in one's pocket would ease one's stay in mexico :P

You are correct, and even Native Americans migrated here if you go back far enough. There were a lot of interchanges between the people of what are now US and Mexico over the last several thousand years, not just in recent history. Some people have short memories. Most Americans living today are decendants of immigrants who arrived here in the last 400 years, and most much less than that. I guess some people think that since the founding fathers of the US were a bunch of English-speaking white people that defines what a "real" American is. It doesn't.

The fact is that the US is an English speaking nation. Hence the bill of rights etc all being written in English. Hence you writing in this forum in English.

I do not think anyone has a problem with legitimate Mexicans but illegal immigrants and their amnesty is a slap in the face for all legal immigrants.. What America should do is send all of their criminals over the border to Mexico and see how they like those apples when the role is reversed..

Yes the US is an English speaking nation and it must be our offical language (either legally or de-facto), but to deny that we are actually multi-cultural and multi-ethnic is to deny our heritage and history. There's a middle-ground here that maintains English as our official language while still respecting our traditions and diversity.

And IMO anyone who snuck across the border (from any country) should not get an advantage in getting any kind of amnesty or gaining citizenship easier than those who abey the law.

This song makes me want to hurl every time I hear it. If I can tell it's coming on the country station, I change it...immediately. The sense of entitlement and the overall just nastiness of it sickens me. It's the whole, it's ok since I'm an American attitude. It's funny to me how I can think of both an American song and a Mexican song which talk about illegal crossings, I will do my best to find the Mexican song I am thinking of. However, I must say the given motives in this gem here are far less noble than whatever it is I heard in that Mexican song...

I left, out of Tucson, with no destination in mind.

I was runnin' from trouble and the jail-term the Judge had in mind.

And the border meant freedom, a new life, romance,

And that's why I thought I should go,

And start my life over on the seashores of old Mexico.

My first night in Juarez, lost all the money I had.

One bad senorita made use of one innocent lad.

But I must keep on runnin'; it's too late to turn back:

I'm wanted in Tucson, I'm told.

Yeah, an' things'll blow over on the seashores of old Mexico.

Two Mexican farmers en route to a town I can't say,

Let me ride on the back of a flatbed half-loaded with hay.

Down through Durango, Colima, Almiera,

Then in the Manzanillos,

Where I slept on the seashores of old Mexico.

After one long siesta, I came wide awake in the night.

I was startled by someone who shadowed the pale moonlight.

My new-found companion, one young senorita,

Who offered a broken hello,

To the gringo she found on the seashores of old Mexico.

She spoke of Sonora and swore that she'd never return,

For her Mexican husband, she really had no great concern.

'Cause she loved the gringo, my red hair and lingo:

That's all I needed to know.

Yeah, I found what I needed on the seashores of old Mexico.

Yeah, she loved the gringo, my red hair and lingo:

That's all I needed to know, ha, ha.

Yeah, I found what I needed on the seashores of old Mexico.

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

What are you on about with this hooker thing? The point of the song was very obvious-he committed some sort of crime to which he was going to be sentenced to jail, so he ran off to Mexico, the very second he crosses over he refers to himself as "innocent," and goes and finds some other guy's wife who for whatever reason likes his red hair and the way he speaks English, and that's all he needs to know (ha ha)-which by the way, I didn't notice that little haha there in the last part until just now. Cute little addition that is.

Sad isn't it...the huge influx of criminal illegal aliens from America will be the downfall of Mexico. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

No one is denying that. The US is not the only multi-cultural country out there. Yet it would be one of few nations to simply let anyone walk into the country as they see fit.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, the border needs to be secured. Right now it's a joke.
