We just did the walk in today without any issues at all. :). The guy asked if we had an appointment, and I said if we can do a walk in today, he said "sure, come in". The entire process maybe just took 15-20 minutes.

That's excellent.

I finally received my NOA last night.

Now waiting for my turn for fingerprint. Hope Detroit will allow walk in since I am still in school. I might need to bring my schedule with me just in case.

Hi March filers!

So I haven't received my biometrics appointment yet - my PD was 3/13. Anyone else in a similar situation? I've seen people here who have files around the same time as myself, completed the biometrics and even been scheduled an interview. So I think my wait time seems abnormal compared to everyone else. Any thoughts?

I've sent an online service request - which seems useless as I got an automated response saying they will reply by May 6th. Anything else I can do in the meantime?

Thanks!

It seems there's no logic to their timings! Apparently Boston is still processing August or September dates yet a few recent filers already have interview dates! I can't figure out if early walk ins for biometrics help or not. Sometimes they do but then I've seen cases which have still taken 2 more months to get an interview date. I'm hoping my case goes fast, I've managed to get my biometrics done within a month of filing. Hopefully I'll get my EAD in a month and my interview a month after that. A 3 month time frame would be awesome and seems reasonable compared to other peoples experiences lately.

AOS from VWP

21 March Priority Date (day 4)

27 March text/email NOAs received (day 10)

11 April successful biometrics walk in (day 25)

29 April Testing and Interview ? (day 43)

12 May received hard copy NOA of interview scheduled 16 June! (day 56) :dancing:

27 May email received stating EAD card is in production and my AP has been approved (day 71)

30 May email received stating EAD has been shipped, should arrive Monday! (Day 74)

2 June received EAD in the mail (day 77)

16 June INTERVIEW :dancing: APPROVED!!!! (day 91!!!!)

I agree there is no logic on processing times. But just seems that nearly everyone has received their biometrics appointment within 30 days of filling. So I may be an outlier - unless there are other people in the same situation.

I don't think would hurt give USCIS a call to ask if you have a biometric appointment. Just to be sure that USPS did not lose your letter.

When you call USCIS, make sure it is petitioner who is calling. I did call before. I can only talk to level 1. If I need to speak to level 2 who can reveal more information for you, it has to be petitioner. In my case, it is my husband who is USC.

Thanks lil2be.

I believe the biometrics is related to the I-485, for which the beneficiary is the petitioner. So i should be able to call and if need be speak to someone in level 2. Will have to do it when I can block off an hour or two. Will let you guys know how it goes.

Thanks!

You are still considered an applicant. Because the main application is I-130. I would recommend to call early in the morning like 8 am. My husband called them at 8.05am and waited only 5 mins to speak to level 2. If you call them later, the wait time can be up to 2 hours. We did that and we gave up. You either call them while your spouse is with you or have s/he call them if you really need that details.

best of luck
