I believe mine took about 12 days. So I believe you should hear from them within 2 weeks time.

Please let us know about how the early walk-ins for biometrics went for you. I decided to wait until my actual appointment as I don't have a valid reason or evidence for early walk-ins. Best of luck to all those who are trying though!

Hi Guys,

so I'm done with my biometrics yippee!!!

I walked in around 10:15 this morning. Explained the security guy that my appointment is only a few days before my due date and I was hoping to get it done asap because I don't want to miss my appt if I go to labor... :)) He called the supervisor and asked me to wait. While I was waiting he asked two people who came only like ten or fifteen minutes early to come back later. After ten minutes supervisor showed up and I explained my situation to him. He asked for my marriage licence which I didn't have with me (I didn't realize I put my husband's last name on all forms but still have my maiden name in my passport). He asked me to go and get it and come back. Fortunately it's only fifteen minutes drive so I was more than happy to do it. When I came back they let me in immediately. At the check-in counter they took my marriage licence so they could show it to supervisor, then asked me to fill out one form, I was given a number and waited. The waiting room was packed and I had to wait for almost an hour. When they finally called my number it only took about five minutes to get everything done.

Even though everybody was really nice and both the security guy and supervisor were even joking around I'm pretty sure there is no way they would let anyone do early walk-in without a serious reason. Which I guess is understandable considering how busy they were.

Good luck you all!

So I checked my case status on the USCIS website and it seems like they are sending out RFE. As it was updated only today, I doubt I will receive the mail this week. Sigh... hopefully it's nothing too serious but, this sure makes me anxious. :(

I finally got the texts/emails! My packet was accepted on 21 March 2014 and everything is on Initial Review on the case tracker. Apparently the NOA's were put in the mail on that date too.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let my fellow applicants know about my walk-in experience:

Original appointment:

Date & time: April 8, 2pm

Location: ASC San Marcos, CA

Walk-in:

Date & time: March 28, 1.30pm

Location: ASC Manhattan, NY

The security guards downstairs and the guard in the waiting room didn't care about my original appointment.

I just filled in the worksheet and then waited the lady to show up who checks everything again and gives you

your number.

However, the lady stamped and then noticed the different location (the different time didn't seem to bother her).

I explained that I filed with dual residency and would be in Manhattan until end of April (both true). On purpose

I had shown her my passport instead of my driver license since that one is from NJ which might have caused

additional trouble.

She called the supervisor to clarify. The supervisor came after a few minutes, checked and gave her ok without asking any questions.

The "number lady" then called my number clearly not amused that I had been accepted. First she said "sit down" and

as soon as I sat she said "stand up". That happened several times. Then she took the picture and the fingerprints. I signed

and was done....The lady said several times "you're done now - you can go", but she hadn't returned my passport yet and
my notice. I replied each time that I would need my papers back. Then she wanted to sit me down in the waiting area. I was starting

my way there, but then she said "where are you going? I still have your passport.". Yeah, right.....I walked out without completing the
customer satisfaction survey sheet that you get at the end.End of story.

Anyway, the only advice I can give is:

  1. Try walk-in
  2. Just keep smiling
  3. Keep saying thank you
  4. Keep your thoughts to yourself

Luckily, I don't have to go to another USCIS office before the interview. :dancing:

Hi Everyone;

I am HAPPY to read all the progresses here in the site and wishing you all the best and good luck on EVERYBODY's progress.

UPDATE ON MY STATUS :

As you all know , lol, after filing an incorrect fee (still do not know which one was wrong), I resubmitted the application again on March 18th and they received it on March 19th. Still no answer, text, or email. I checked with Western Union and money orders have not been cashed either.

The only thing that I know is USCIS send me an actual mail saying that I submitted an incorrect fee and I know have a receipt number starting with MSCXXXXXXXXXXX... When I do follow it on USCIS.gov, it says that I submitted a wrong fee (and in ACCEPTANCE stage)

I wanted to ask you all if you know the CORRECT amount of fees that I do need to send these people (just in case that I might have submitted wrong fees again)

1) I-485 : I submitted $1070 (985 + 85)

2) I-130 : I submitted $420

3) I-1765 : I submitted $380 (not 465 because I paid 85 already , NOT SURE IF THIS IS RIGHT)

4) I-131 :I submitted $360 (ALTHOUGH no fees described in USCIS , NOT SURE IF THIS IS RIGHT)

and also, wanted to ask if you guys received any receipt number(s) and if they do start with MSCXXXXXXXX ... I find out that its in NEBRASKA Service Center number and I guess they have it now.

Thanks for all the help.

I will keep you guys posted.

If I do not hear nothing today and tomorrow, I will call USCIS again and see whats going on.

May 3rd - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 4th - Signed (Fedex Overnight)

May 12th - RFE (Send back because of incorrect fee)

May 14th - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 15th - Signed

April 1st - Email notifications received (12:20am)

Hello zoomzoom1980!

I am not sure but I do not think you needed to pay for the I-131 or I-765. In the I-485 file it says that you can file both of them without a fee.

Hopefully that will not delay your application.

Keep us posted!

"If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, and you paid the I-485 application fee required, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485."

Same thing with I-131. You should've sent only $1490 total. I hope they won't send you back the whole package again :(

My receipt numbers also start with MCS. My case is processed at National Benefit Center.
