I arrived United States on K1 visa on November 20th 2013.We got married on December 19th and applied for SSN on December 30th.We were given a receipt that we would receive the card within 4 weeks. We again received a receipt by post on January the 20th mentioning that we would get the SSN within 2 weeks.Since then I have been calling the SSN office after every 2 weeks. They say that they are verifying the documents submitted. The only documents I gave them was my Birth certificate,I-94 record and copy of my visa and passport.I don't understand what are they verifying? My I-94 expired on February 17th.Will they now issue me SSN when I get my EAD?I applied for AOS on February 7th.Did someone had same experience?
