Timeline

I know its still early for me to be freaking out, but jeez Im starting too. Yesterday hit the 2 month mark since our NOA1 through VSC. Do applications ever get lost? Is there anything else I should be doing now? In our timeline the thing says:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as December 16, 2006* (this includes an estimated 10 day delay for your RFE).

If this date has passed by more than 10 days or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

Should I call since its been past the 10 days? I thought the USCIS only responded with the application was more than 6 months old. Im trying so hard to be patient, but after the 4 touches in a row after they got our rfe and now nothing that must have been one huge coffee spill! Our rfe was simple I forgot to include the marriage certificate from my first marriage to show the difference on my last name as it is now different than on my birth certificate. We didnt meet with a marriage broker, and neither of us has any kind of criminal record, not even a speeding ticket so nothing that should be holding it up :(

Guess Im just looking for a little reassurance from you timeline gurus and advice if there is anything I should be doing now to check on it, make sure it isnt lost etc. Otherwise guess its back to counting the flowers on the wall and playing solitaire.

Thanks in Advance

Now it makes me feel bad even more that yesterday I was throwing rants and getting impatient for our NOA2 and to think that it's only been 3 weeks since our NOA1 receipt date. I thought Vermont is the only service center that approves cases quickly? Maybe you should start making calls now. Geez, I don't think I would be able to wait that long but I guess when it comes to immigration, we have no other choice but wait for our turn and pray that our approval is one step closer.

Hang in there Cat and I will pray for you! You can be sure that everyone here will give youu the reassurance that you need.

Mae

Might want to bear in mind all your touches came right before the holidays as well. From what I've seen(and I watch the timelines through Vermont rather closely) there have been very few touches since that 3rd week in December, at least for VJers...I'm not saying no touches at all, but fewer. That being said, if in doubt, call! (Were it me, I would have called, but I'm developing immigration OCD)

-12/15/06 Mailed off I-129F

-12/19/06 NOA1 via email

-01/05/07 NOA2 via email

-01/13/07 NVC notice via snail mail

-03/13/07 Packet 4 arrives.

You could try calling but my experience is that the customer service center doesn't tell you anything useful, and just repeats what is written on your online case status message. They're only useful once your petition is a month beyond USCIS's processing times.

Your case was touched so it wasn't lost. VSC is quicker than the other service center but in many cases it still takes a while. In my case VSC took 4 months after NOA1.

Good luck!

Feel fortunate that you're going through VSC. You're more likely to have a much less shorter wait time than us poor sods stuck at CSC.

Hi Cat. Yes, the system works, it just sucks.

My now wife came out of China, one of the slowest countries to deal with. From the time I first filed my K-1 until she was here was about a year and a half. Ting has been in the US now for 11 months and our AoS happened only one month ago in Portland, Or. All went well, just slowly. Trying to phone for any information always proved useless as did Emails. So, jsut relax, it all takes time. Ray rraypo@hotmail.com

Guess Im just looking for a little reassurance from you timeline gurus and advice if there is anything I should be doing now to check on it, make sure it isnt lost etc. Otherwise guess its back to counting the flowers on the wall and playing solitaire.

Took us 82 days from the day I sent it in... you are roughly 1.5 months behind me....I got mine Dec 5th...plus you have the holidays.. I wouldn't get worried until the end of Jan... Expect it around then... But Like you I started watching for it..around the 60th day..and it was 3 weeks after that..

Look at the timelines...that is what they are there for....also that is why we harp all the time on Newbies to start their timelines.. So we can be as accurate as possible..

WHOOPS I just noticed you sent yours in to Veromont...You should of had it back...and all your touches.. You might be getting a RFE.. But who knows for sure... But Vermont is alot faster.... I think I would be concerned..

Just so I can save a few people some time, You dont need to post and say look at timelines.. Done done and done about 5000 times each day, searched through all the records of timelines similar to mine, people using VSC, people using London Consulate, Beneficieries from the UK, and we are well past the majority of the timelines, probably checking the timelines so obcessively is what is making me worried. And you dont have to tell me to be patient, Im worried not impatient like I told my fiancee I wouldnt care that it takes so long as as we kept getting touched cause then at least I know someone has physically touched our case and the papers arent just thrown in a box somewhere. But after 2 months and no touches for almost 3 weeks with the VSC, I think I deserve a little right to ask for some support (besides just being told to be patient) and if there is anything else I should be doing. I know everyone gets frustrated in this process and it is by no means fair in anyway but sometimes people need to hear a little more supportive answer than be patient and check timelines.

I can understand how you feel... no useful advice to offer, mind you, but I know that it must be frustrating and nerve-wracking to be waiting so much longer than most other people going through VSC, and still to have no NOA2. Never mind that it's still less time than those of us going through CSC are waiting - at least we know that's what we have to expect, and that it's perfectly normal! So... just wanted to say you have my sympathy, because if I end up waiting twice as long as everyone else with similar timelines for our NOA2, I know I'll be going frantic about it! (I don't mean I think you *do* have anything to worry about, incidentally - just that I'd be feeling miserable about it in your shoes too!)

I hope you get some good news VERY soon. (F)

You're still within the timeline (average of 2-3 months in VSC) so I wouldn't start freaking out just yet. I know how you feel though as it's very hard to keep sane in this process.
