Hi guys,

I am not sure if this is the right topic to post this,

but I need advice on my lost passport..

I lost my purse with my passport in it after our civil wedding in the city hall in the US.

we filed for a police report already.

I'm just at a loss how we are going to do our next step..

We got our marriage license today, and I have yet to research for AOS

and application for SS..

I am pretty sure we do need the passport for those things..

I have a photocopy of my bio page and my visa, (but it's without the stamp at the immigration)

Are they going to give us a hard time for renewal?

Do i need to renew it now? Do we really need it for AOS? Thank you..

You can go to the nearest Philippine consulate to replace your passport. AOS filing needs a copy of your passport and besides that's the only valid identification you can use here in the US, so it is very important.

Do it now, since it takes a long time to get a new one....

why to worry about the k-1 visa stamp?

it was invalidated at the POE

and it's yer I-94, downloaded from a website,

that governs your stay in the USA.

I think if you went into a SSA office with a copy of your passport AND the I-94,

is possible to apply and get a SSN. Possible. Depends on the clerk and if you bring the police report.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I was thinking the same thing..

I may not need to get a new passport for the SS and AOS after all (hopefully)

We'll be getting the police report on the 6th, so we'll try and fix that when we get the report.

I was planning to just apply for a new passport to have my surname changed..
