I just got off the phone with NVC regarding my wife's case. They said my file was approved this past Friday February 21, and is waiting to be sent to Mumbai consulate. My question was how long does Mumbai take to schedule interview date? Also what preparation does my wife need to do for her Interview date? any and all help greatly appreciated. thank you.

Come to the Case Complete Interview thread here. There are plenty of India couples waiting.

First your petition is not going to the embassy. It stays at NVC until you get an interview. and right now India is about 1 month wait after case complete. They are pretty fast.

The next round of interviews is for April and they should start assigning this week. So depending where you are in the queue and how many slots you may or may not get a interview. Hopefully yes.

For F2A cases, I/L are issued at the end of the month though i have seen IR/CR cases getting I/L in the middle of the month.

So for example, if you get a CC on say Feb 5th, 2014 then expect a I/L by end of Feb. Interview will be in April, 2014.
