My fiance, Lien had her interview today and was approved. She arrived at the embassy at 7:30 am with her friend who was also interviewing that day for a K1 as well. She was very nervous because she feels like her english is still poor, but I kept telling her that it would not be a problem. What she brought for evidence was about 100 pages of chat history and about 30 pages of emails as well as western union receipts. The officer did not look at any of the evidence. She also brought 6 photos which they never looked at. The interview was conducted by a Vietnamese woman who spoke with Lien in Vietnamese! Lien was so relieved and she relaxed instantly. She was asked 3 questions. 1: What is your fiances name? 2: How did you meet him? 3: What is his favorite football team? Lien was wearing a Seattle Seahawks shirt and the embassy officer figured I must have given it to her. Lien laughed at that question and said his favorite team is the Seahawks and my fiance is happy they won the super bowl but he is also sad because football is over. The embassy office laughed at that and then said that Lien was approved and handed her the pink slip! After the interview Lien had to pay for the EMS fee for shipping the visa to her. I believe this is something new the embassy requires. She was told her passport would be mailed to her in approximately 2 weeks. And Lien's friend was also approved for her K1 visa. Lien said that the interview only lasted about 5 minutes but she had to wait about 3 and a half hours beforehand. And then waited another 30 minutes arrange for the EMS shipping. She was finished and out of the embassy about 11:45 am.
