Additional Vaccinations and Transcribing I-693

I know if we apply for AOS within a year of my soon-to-be-husband's embassy medical exam, there is no need for another exam and the civil surgeon will transcribe the DS-3020 onto a I-693. Prior to his medical, my fiancé got some vaccines and boosters. There were one or two vaccines that he needs to get the second shot in the series. Can he do that in Iran? (It's much less expensive there.) Will the civil surgeon accept new additions to his vaccination record since the embassy medical, and transcribe those too?

I don't want him to finish vaccines in Iran if they won't be accepted by the civil surgeons. Anyone have experience with this?

You only need the first shot in the series for AOS. If your DS-3025 is complete, then you don't need to see a civil surgeon...you can just submit the properly completed DS-3025 with your AOS application.

This post will help you determine if your DS-3025 is complete: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/?p=6206232

The table listed here will show you which vaccines you need based on age: http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

Thanks, that was very helpful. Yes, he has a couple of parts marked "insufficient time interval" -- those were the ones I was concerned about, but it seems he's okay.

Hi, I got all my vaccines in Iran. In Institute Pastor in Tehran - International Section (he definately knows it). There they asked me to which country I was immigrating - seems like different countries have different requirements. I said to USA and they knew what I needed. They gave me a yellow booklet, the same size of a passport. Name and date of each of the vaccines that I got were mentioned and officially stamped on that. When I came to USA, I went to a civil surgeon in Los Angeles and the first thing he asked to see was that yellow booket. The hospital that I went to in Abu Dhabi asked for that too. They all accept it. And yes it was much less expensive in Tehran. Tell him to go to either "Institue Pastor" or "Tehran University", if he lives in Tehran. If you have more questions, just send me an email.

I'm counting the seconds...
