SSN- First and Middle Names Combined From I-94

My fiancee and I went today to get her SSN. She arrived in the U.S. on February 6th. Since she is from Latin America she has four names (first, middle, father's last, mother's last). Apparently at the POE they listed her first name as both her first and middle. So, today at Social Security they told her that her card would have to have all four names listed, with her first and middle name listed as her first name.

Example: Jane Emily Doe Smith. She goes by Jane Doe. Social Security told her that her first name is listed as Jane Emily, with no middle name, and the last name of Doe Smith.

When she gets married she wants to take my last name (for example Davis)....becoming Jane Davis.

We think it will be easy enough to change her last name after we get married and can show the certified marriage license. However, Social Security said it may be difficult to change her first and middle name to what it actually is, as opposed to how the I-94 listed it as two first names with no middle.

Our question is A) who do we change her name with? USCIS? All of the immigration documents and the K-1 Visa show that she has four separate names, not two firsts and two lasts. And B) how do we do this? Is it a phone call or do we need to do Infopass....or does it not even matter at all?

Any information is appreciated.

get into a CBP office and ask for the shift supervisor,

then show the VISA and the I-94,

explain that the NAME was entered incorrectly INTO the SAVE database at the POE after entry,

and ask for the name to be changed to reflect the VISA name.

No need to call in, don't need an appointment, simply go.

Hi,

I am also in the same situation, applied SSN 4 weeks before and still they couldnt generate it.

Whenever i ask to SSN, they say that its still pending for verfication from DHS.

The issue might be with my large last name with 3 words.

And also today I correct one spelling mistake in my firstname of I94 document by calling to CBP.

Dont know how long will it take to get my SSN.

Any one with same situation kindly advice how to proceed.

Will going to USCIS office at SFO with all required docs and meeting an immigration officer workout to solve this issue.

Thanks

SMRRONI.
