Hi back in August my wife in Egypt had her interview and was told that she needs to find another sponsor. Me the husband, was living with her at the time in Egypt for 2 years and didn't have any taxes to sponsor her so I had my Dad sponsor her. I guess he didn't make enough to sponsor her and our daughter. They gave us 1 year to find another sponsor. I have my uncle whos willing to do it but I want to make sure I do it right. How should I go about doing it. I'm thinking he has to fill out form I-864A but I'm a little confused on that form based of what I should put for part 2 who is filled in and signed by the main sponsor (which is my dad who already done but was not enough money ) who will be filling out the form i-864 who was also my dad. *** Should I have my uncle also fill out a I-864 and also a I-864a or just I-864a? Also part 3 on the I-864a says needs to be filled out by the household member, who would that be? Me the husband, or my dad the owner of the house who was the main sponsor? *note: I never filled out a I-864 my self for my wife because I did not have any income to proove. I glady appreciate your precious time, and thanks.

When I read up on the sponsorship rules it looked as though the spouse has to fill out a sponsorship form 864 whether or not they had enough money.

Your uncle should fill in the 864 not the 864a... He's a joint sponsor, not a member of the household.

Read the guide?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

if joint sponsor has tax return name with his wife while he fulfill 125% poverty level then his wife should also fill-up the form I-864A or not ?

Because she is the household member of joint sponsor ?

Please advice ?
