Hello,

My fiance is struggling to find a place to get his US style passport photos done...

Where did you Brits get yours?

He's in Liverpool...

We already had a tip on 'photome' booths which can be found in some Tescos... NOT in Liverpool apparently...

Any other tips appreciated...

We're trying to avoid the taking them himself and crop option because he and his friends are not shall we say great with computers/cameras... He has many other brilliant qualities though :D

But if we must we must...

I've seen those booths in Sainsbury's branches too, might be worth a look. I got mine done with http://passporty.co.uk/ no camera skills required. You just take a photo of yourself against a neutral background, in decent lighting and send the digital file to them. They crop it and fiddle round with it so the head is within the required dimensions and send you a sheet of visa size photos in the post. I figured, that way, I won't have to worry about whether my head is too close/too far away/too much shoulder etc. They were very quick and very good, all the photos I've sent during this process have been accepted so... :)

Any Snappy Snaps branches near him?

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

May not help for Liverpool, but also available at Snappy Snaps, Photo-Me booths, Jessops, Gould's Pharmacy (by the embassy), near the Bond St Tube station (Oxford St) which is closest Tube to the medical exam.

You can take your own and size it to US standards using this uploader tool from the US Dept of State. Scroll halfway down the page. http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/photos/photos.html

A tip from my experience-- take the photo including the whole torso, not a close-up. Then the tool will size up and crop it properly. A close-up is too big and won't size down to fit.

Save the jpg file and print at home or at a photo place where you would print any digital photos.

We did our own photos for our passports and printed at home. It does a 4x6 photo page with two identical square photos in the middle with white border filling the rest of the photo page. Get him to take a photo and send to you. Then you do the uploaded tool part for him.

I think Jessops has gone bust.

I got mine done at Snappy Snaps and they were perfectly fine, although I do wish there was an option to get them in digital format rather than paper ones that I then had to scan.

That's really handy. I resent the idea of paying £7 at the photo me booth for US sized pictures even though it's a drop in the ocean compared to the rest of the process!

I resent spending money on anything I can do myself. But I don't mind blowing money on things I don't want to do.

We took photos in the garage which was the only white wall we had. Turned out better than my previous passport photo from Walgreen's. The bonus is I got to take over until there was one I was willing to have on a passport for 10 years. :P

I used co-op pharmacy, they take the photo with a digital camera then size it for you. No problems and much cheaper that here in the US, I nearly fell over when i had some done for my AoS package. I think it was $15 for 2, I managed to haggle and get the next 2 sets of 2 at half price. You need 6 if filing AoS, EAD and AP at the same time.
