First Time Traveling with GC

Hello,

I'm going back to Japan for the first time after getting a GC.

What I need is my Japanese passport and GC to come back into the US. Is that right?

Is there anything else I should bring with me just in case?

If you are going to be gone more than a year then you will need a re entry permit, that likely doesn't apply though. Are your passport & GC in the same name? If not also take a copy of your marriage certificate.

Yes, my passport and GC names are pretty much the same. I'll bring the marriage certificate just in case though.

So I just need my passport and GC to re-enter, is that correct?

Yes. Passport and green card should be fine.

Then purchase the ticket so the name matches your passport and then bring a copy of your marriage certificate to go along with the green card, just in case it is needed.
