Hello all,

I need to fill I-751 to remove conditions on residency and my green card is going to expire in April.

I do not know which documents are going to need with this form

Also how to get affidavits for this ?

You will need to fill out, sign and send in form I-751 (can be found on USCIS.gov). Also, you need to send a check for $590, which includes the application processing fee and the biometrics fee.

As for accompanying documents, you need to send as much proof as possible that your marriage to your US citizen spouse is real and legitimate. The documentation needs to span the ENTIRE period of your marriage. Documentation to send in should include as many of the following items as possible:

-Copy of lease or mortgage in both spouses' names. If no formal lease is available, or if living with relatives, a sworn affidavit from your landlord/host relative is a good idea, to explain the lack of a formal lease.

-Copies of statements for joint bank accounts and/or credit cards. Make sure you send in the entire statements and not just the first page, as they like to see some activity in the accounts. One statement for each quarter for the entire period you have been married is recommended.

-Copies of joint financial obligations, such as utility bills in both names, car insurance, life insurance etc. Again, one statement for each quarter of your marriage is good.

-If you have a car and it is owned jointly, send a copy of your car registration and car title. Do the same with any other assets you may own jointly.

-If you have kids, include a birth certificate for the kid/kids.

-If one spouse is listed as a beneficiary on the other spouse's benefits (such as health insurance, 401K, life insurance etc.) send a copy of those policies as well.

-Copies of joint tax returns since you became a permanent resident are a must. IRS transcripts are preferred (you can request them from the IRS for free).

-Any other proof you may have showing marriage legitimacy, such as a will listing the other spouse as the beneficiary; listing the other spouse as an emergency contact/next of kin on medical or emergency situations; if you have kids, proof that both parents are listed as emergency contacts etc.

These are the main documents and you would be fine with those (or a majority of those). Some people send pictures together, letters and cards from friends and relatives addressed to both and things like that, however these are only considered secondary evidence and should only be sent to accompany the items from the list above, never alone (otherwise an RFE or even a call to an interview is a certainty).

About the affidavits: again, these are optional and only serve as secondary evidence. Just ask 2-3 friends and relatives of yours who know you as a couple to write an affidavit for you attesting to the legitimacy of your marriage. Just be sure that everyone who signs an affidavit for you is a US citizen or a US Legal Permanent Resident. Affidavits don't need to be notarized, but many people (myself included) think it is best to have them notarized anyway for extra credibility.
