Nice way to broad sweep a group of people.

Hardly The majority of Native Americans live in Poverty and receive some form of Govt Aid

They also hold the greatest percentage in extreme poverty

Oddly enough they have been being helped by the govt longer than any other minority group. Will the left learn from this, as to what the end game of govt dependence is..NO

Thanks. Too bad you missed it completely.

C. I have no idea idea how to respond to the overwhelming facts you presented, so I will just call you a derogatory names with zero reading comprehension insult you and move on, and claim I already answered the question. ( this covers the tin foil hat stupidity)

Wonder why they live in poverty? Not like they had their country swept right from under them, not to mention slavery and almost getting wiped out.

How many years is that excuse allowed?

I'm just pointing out what I thought was obvious. Minorities that come here from a country without the above mentioned issues seem to do pretty well. And many folks ask why someone from another country can come here and prosper yet folks born and are minorities seem to always have issues.

When an entire group of people are enlsaved for hundreds of years, to be conditioned to think less of yourself, to be treated less than a human being, to be forced to hate yourself and those who look like you, it's not something you can just shake off. Some people rise above it, others don't. We would never tell a Jewish person to get over it, why do we do it to minorites?

It wasn't a question.

That's giving a huge blanket benefit of the doubt. I think you're willing to sympathize with groups of people a bit too much. Not everyone's problem is five generations ago. Some, yes. Does it explain everything away? Nope

The Jews are pros at dealing with oppression. It's been happening to them, well, forever.

Or maybe after years of abuse, the Govt put them on a reservation and told them trust us, we will take care of you, provide health care, education, etc..e ill make special laws to protect only people that look like you, we will give certain benefits to only people that look like you.

Can you not see the parallel?

You've just decribed the conditions under which many immigrants arrive in the U.S. Persecuted in their homelands and treated as second class citizens, yet when they arrive here in the U.S. they thrive and do well. In most cases with a language barrier to overcome.

Sorry man, I'm not buying the "we've been treated like $hit for hundreds of years" excuses any more. I understand people need help to overcome adveristy, but when they make living off the government their main goal in life, then blame it on something that happened hundreds of years ago, I have ZERO sympathy. I wasn't even born when all that happened, so not my problem. Move forward and quit wallowing in the past.

Basically "We want to be treated the same as everyone else, but at the same time we want special treatment for ####### that happened 100s of years ago." Take your pick, you can't have it both ways.

Is that the answer? Leave the US so we can acheive better heights?

Nobody wants special treatment, but we get it. It's the reason why schools with minorities are paid less. It's the reason why drug use with white people is higher, yet more blacks and browns fill our prisons.

I have no pity for someone who milks the system, no matter what the color is. But to say that what happened 100 years ago is irrevelant today, when you have over half the black population living with rats and roaches, to think that someone wants to live that way?

Not sure how you got that from my post. I simply stated that people that come here with what would seem a much larger disadvantage than African Americans, do quite well as opposed to those who have the advantage of being born here.

It's been pointed out multiple times here that school districts that have a high percentage of minorities and receive more funds than most other school districts in the state consistently test and the bottom end of the scale. So it would seem spending more money isn't the answer. Camden, NJ I think is the example that was used. Blaming schools is a cop out. It starts at home.

There's a statistic somewhere that lays out what percentage of the African American population lives with rats and roaches? I'd like to see it.

Blacks in the US, as well as other groups, like native Americans are more likely to have dysfunctional or broken homes, see the inside of a jail or experience poverty.

Does it seriously occur to noone else that these are very real problems and that trying to lay the blame at the feet of government assistance is woefully short sighted?

The government is supposed to look after its citizens.

What race on this earth is more loathed than African American? I'm not using the race card, but let's be honest here. Being in over 17 different countries, I've had to deal with that stigma. It's the ultimate disclaimer, don't be a black guy. If you're black, don't bother.

Teachers in high minority schools are paid 2K less. Don't know where all that money they're spending on funding is going, but it's not going into the teacher's salary.

I used to go to friends and family's houses that weren't as well off as we were. As a child, I never understood why their houses used to smell. You know, the musty, no deodorant smell that gets into your clothes. I remember you had to check everywhere you would sit or play because of the roaches scrambling around when the lights came one. Rats? Take a ride over to ESL, the entire city is one big mess. No one wants to live that way.
