Hi VJ, I have read somewhere that they have whats called "follow-to-join" but you have to file that before 1 year of the mother entering the usa I think. Does anyone know any info on this? I know that you state the child on the I-129F form. My fiancé wanted to come to the usa and get established first before bringing over her now 5 year old boy. If its after 1 year do you have to file a separate visa form all over again for the child?

Thanks for any info..

As long as you list the child on the I-129F you have one year from the date of issuance of your fiancee's visa for the child's visa to be issued.

Issued date is not approval date, nor the date one entered the USA, the issued date is on the visa. And the child's visa must be issued before that date, which means you will have to get interviewed early enough to cover this.

If you miss that date it will be an all new petition (I-130) process.
