Asking for all SoCal filers to chime in with their experience:

My wife passed her naturalization interview and has a scheduled oath ceremony next Tuesday at Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) at 12:10pm. What time can we expect the ceremony to be over? I am trying to coordinate afternoon activities (picking up our kid from preschool back in OC).

I would advice you to put at least 4 hours into that just in case it takes to long. It could take less but I've seen some people saying that their oath ceremonies took 4 hours. Of course it depends on how many people will be naturalized that day. I would advice you to arrange a baby sitter ( a friend or a family member to watch the kids that day) Good luck.

Had our oath ceremony yesterday. For anyone in the Los Angeles area who's wondering, it literally takes about 2 hours to get everyone (5,000 people!) seated. Arrival times are staggered. Per our letter, we were instructed to arrive at 12:10pm. The lady next to us was instructed to arrive at 12:30pm. The judge doesn't arrive until around 1:45pm. We were done and out by around 2:45pm.

I was naturalized yesterday also at the LA Convention Center. My letter said to arrive at 8.05, and the ceremony started around 9am. I was out of there a little after 10am, after getting my certificate and everything. We drove from Santa Barbara, so we were up at 4am! It was a looooong day!

Hi! Congrats! : )

I saw that u filed in September and got everything done in January! That's crazy fast!

I live in Ventura County and from USCIS website, I see that both VC and SB are under SFV office. So I'm wondering if you had your interview in San Fernando valley office?

I was so surprised when I got the interview letter and it said Chatsworth, because I had no idea they did interviews! But, it was good, because it was less of a drive and there was free parrking, haha. Overall, it was a very smooth experience during the whole n400 application for me. Best of luck for your application!

That's wonderful! I heard that office is faster than the LA office! : )
Congrats! : )
