Yes time to stalk the mailman again...lol I really am relieved for you though. Maybe the EAD was pushed ahead by a few days at least via your expedite, hard to say, but in the end what a great way to end the week.

Come Monday I am off to the DMV to get my learners and then straight to Social Security for that name change bizzo....then job hunting like a crazy person.... :) yay!

Have a fantastic, worry free weekend Nurseling, you have earned it..;)

Hey CJC

I am so relieved it's approved woke up and did a route to New York for 1hour 30 mins. It was so realistic never realised just how busy New York is. God I love my ifit treadmill excersise actually feels like your on vacation in another place.

I agree with you about the driving thing. I have made up my mind to fork out 560$ for 10. Driving lessons and cos the odd random lessons my hubby is giving me just isn't getting me on the road quick enough. Expensive for 10 lessons but I need to be driving by end of may. Tired of being driven around and waiting around for hubby to get home etc. need my licence pronto.

I too need to go pay the social security office a visit to change name on my current social security card and to get the not authorised to work thing removed on it.

If I had known that I would be making two journeys there I would have just not bothered to apply for it I would have waited to get the EAD stuff sorted first. Oh well never mind the waiting time in their office is not so bad if you get there super early. I guess as soon as I receive the EAD that's the next thing to do.

Yes celebration time this weekend dinner movie and visiting hubby's friends. Down to business next week which is settling my 2 yr old into daycare. Won't be easy as he has grown accustomed to me being around. Hopefully he settles in well.

How many days did it take before you received your card in the mail? Do they need to send another message saying the card is in production or is this it? I checked the system again today no change from the message they sent yesterday. Green card still on same status initial review. Doubt that will move for a long time yet.

Hope you have a great weekend goes great.

Don't envy you with the job hunting part I know I never enjoyed the part when I was filling out forms and doing resumes and writing cover letters. After filing k1 and AOS any application becomes a chore. It's like your drowning in a pool of paper lol.

Hi JBForever.

I am not sure what field you are looking for jobs in but for me www.indeed.com really worked very good for me (I am in the Tech area and being in Portland might be a reason too). You have the option of putting your resume on indeed too. You will have a couple of recruiters call you but they are very good in setting you up for interviews. www.glassdoor.com is another good site to look for jobs. There are others like www.dice.com and www.monster.com but I haven't tried them. I just used only indeed.com and it works really good for me.

Good luck on the job hunting! and Good luck to everyone here. Looks like these past 2/3 weeks have been very productive for us all :-)

As a matter of personal preference I stay away from Craigslist from anything other than when I want to purchase something. There are lots of internet trolls and spam activities there.

thanks for the heap of info, id be sure to keep those in mind...will let you know how it turns out for me. Good luck on your interviews too:)

Depends on what kind of job you are looking for. I'm on indeed.com, monster.com and google search for jobs in Atlanta, friends, family members. Im not sure about jobs on craigslist. the only thing we bought on craigslist was our lovely puppy and washer & dryer.

i am looking for office/admin jobs or call center jobs, been a BS foreign service graduate back in the phils. thanks for the info, really helpful:)

i Saw a few people before posting about the tracking number. However, i cant recollect how long after you get the text/email approval, do you receive the tracking info? Its been 2 days, and I haven't received anything. Can someone give me some advice? :help: I would greatly appreciate it. :innocent:

I never received a tracking number. But on April 1st, I got two email alerts within an hour. One said the EAD was being mailed to the address on file and status was at Card Production. Then soon after it said something about the Approval Letter was sent and the Status went back to Post Decision Activity. I got a little nervous, but April 3rd, we had the EAD card in hand. So the site never gave us a Tracking Number. We called USCIS and the customer service was useless. All they did was read what was online. So hang in there. It should be coming soon.

Also check news papers like AJC is atlanta one find out what your local ones are. they tend to advertise jobs. I put my resume on indeed and monster and joined glass door. I had a huge response just by posting my resume up loads of recruiters and agency's contacted me. It doesn't take long to write your resume. Glass door will send daily jobs in your inbox so does monster jobs. Just get that set up and your good to go.

JB - I agree with Indeed.com - it pretty much posts jobs from all the other sites. I also like Careerbuilder. If I was you, I would get a resume together, if you haven't already done so. Make sure they're filled with Key Words that potential recruiters or job seekers would be looking for. Thats how they filter you out. Then post it on indeed.com, careerbuilder.com and even Monster.com - you won't always hear back when you apply, but some do respond. And let them find you as well. But you have to stand out - so make sure you have those buzz words. Because First and foremost - you have to get someone to take an interest and look at your resume from the thousands and thousands out there. Good Luck

Hey guys first of all, I wanna say a big congratulations to you all that got ya EAD cards. Very happy for u guys and Nurseling great job for keeping the spirit alive here. Wowww now I think about it, seems like I been away here for too long but anyways here I am now.

I am in a situation I really don't know what to do... in January like everyone else I filed my I-130 only. At the time I didn't have enough funds to shell out for the entire application but in February I caught up financially. However just at the moment I was gonna get ready to file my I-485 and the rest of the application, my sister-in-law who was gonna be our joint sponsor traveled abroad. A trip we thought was gonna last for a month at the max has stretched out to 3months and she's not yet back!!! It's April already, all my AOS documents has been sitting in the drawer just waiting for her to return so she can provide her income and tax documents then fill her part of the application for us to mail off.

I am tired of waiting and right now im pressed to get this rolling to at least have the biometrics done and hope she'll be back on/before I get an RFE for the lacking Affidavit of Support from Joint Sponsor. My questions are without the joint sponsor's info will my application be rejected and returned right at the lockbox facility before they even process it? And is getting a biometric appointment AT LEAST, dependent on filing all other AOS documents completely? Finally is the EAD application adjudicated independently of the I-485 & Affidavit of Support?? I mean I have every single thing in order, even my spouse's tax and income documentation (which just happens to be insufficient).

What are your thoughts and/or suggestionS??? Please help a brutha out... Thank you

Thank you

Hi dudein

Glad to see you back. Wow you have a lot your sorting out. I am not too familiar with sending the forms separately. I would say however that it might be worth waiting on the sponsors info before submitting. Rfe although would be pretty much certain if you have not filled out the tax info it is also costly sending a reply and waiting etc. if it was me I would gather everything first then avoid a rfe. Maybe others in the group have had similar experience and maybe able to advice different.

Shame your sponsors been away so long there for delaying things for you.

Keep us informed of how it goes. I imagine your keen to get out working like the rest of us lol.

Hey Nurseling....What a day, been up before dawn and haven't stopped with getting my paperwork ready for next week and found an error in the paperwork...drats...well will have to bring it to the interview...hopefully it won't hold anything up..:(

Good news, got my EAD /AP combo card today...so only took 2 days, it was sent by priority mail...yay. I got a notice it was approved and in production on 03/27 & then another notice that they had mailed it 01/04 & then another notice on 04/02 notifying me of the tracking info. Then today, I got another notice they delivered it.....seems I am super lucky getting all these notices....lol.

On the bright side I love job hunting....weird hey. I love applying for jobs and writing letters and resumes..I love going for interviews too because I love meeting people....lol no wonder I chose admin for a career...oddly enough though I am like a mechanic and their car, I stuffed up the i485... At least I am not on my own payroll..ha ha

Good idea re the driving lessons....before you know it you will cruising around in your Jeep-skie...huzzah!!

Wishing you and your family a lovely weekend. All the best with finding a great day care centre for your son too. He'll be sure to miss you but hopefully he might rather like hanging out with other little rug rats too..:)

Take care..

Hey there, nice to see you again. I agree with Nurseling, wait for everything if you can. I remember (well I think I do..lol) another poster here didn't have the complete info per their joint sponsor in the first instance and they didn't get their bio appt until after it was submitted... :(

Maybe the joint sponsor could do their taxes remotely and send the paperwork via courier to you? You are certainly in a tight spot mate. All the best with it.

I just received my social security card. Looks like I am all set now lol. Hoping to get an interview scheduled for my I-485 soon though.

Awesome news MaleAlpha...yippee for you! Hope you here soon about the interview too.

Have a super weekend..!
