I've registered cars in this country ever since I arrived here some 17 years ago and they still haven't come for any of them. I understand that Americans have registered cars for decades before I got here. Why is the government not confiscating them? What's the point of registering them?

Why are you comparing guns to cars again? Focus, m8...

And that is where you are wrong. It makes no sense to compare the US to Zimbabwe.

It also makes no sense to allow you to post along with the rational, normal members here, yet allowed you are. :)

I think you started that comparison earlier in the thread. wink.png

And because it was SO WRONG (in some folks' opinion) you decided that two wrongs make a right? ;)

The rational being those like you that are proud of the US doing better than the most poverty and war stricken nations on the planet but falling far behind the developed nations? rofl.gif

No, the ones who can make cogent, rational arguments without constantly trying to belittle others as you do.

I thought I present something you could understand.

So pointing out the fallacy of your argument is equal to belittling you? Interesting.

Read that again. Contextually... awkward. I know you an do better.

Gotta go scrub me nutz for a while, never know when the men in black will come around with their sharp knives. Miss me!

No, but you, more so than many others here, have a way of sneaking in little "below the belt" comments when you disagree with a point of view. Not just mine, but many. I guess it's what makes you... you.

Earlier in this thread you and others said comparing autos to firearms is silly. Has that changed?

My take on the issue is that more guns equal more deaths in areas where crime is already prevelant. There are never any shooting deaths in my town and I'm betting gun ownership is almost 100%. I myself own 6 guns, having both rifles and pistols and even an AR15. I have never had an urge to go on a killing spree. I'd also bet that most of us would want the ability to defend ourselves if we found ourselves in the unfortunate position as the non-criminal minded people living in Detroit. If the police won't protect you yoh have to look out for yourself. Im sure there are plenty living in bad parts of the UK that would do the same if it was allowed under the law there.

Call me crazy, but I still think jobs, education and lack of poverty would solve a lot more issues that arming everyone and letting them shoot it out.

Marv..... you speak as though you can bestow education on the unwilling.

If they are not interested in education, they then have nothing to offer and employer..... they then are poor.

They are not victims... they create victims.

We know that people in their same situation, DO get an education, do get a job, do make a life for them self.

When my father was a child he lived in the classic "no running water" ..... no electricity , rental home and actually plowed behind a mule until he was 19.

Poverty was everywhere, he had family members he considered poor, he recalls them living off molasses and cornbread.

He went in the Air force, went to college and now lives quite comfortable (yet modestly as is his nature).

So he came from poverty yet the Difference was, he had a good example (Or more commonly referred to as a Dad).

You my friend, are trying to put the cart in front of the horse.

You are trying to get tomatoes to grow in shitty soil.

There is nothing life has convinced me of more than..... Family structure is the number one determining factor concerning the development of a child.

I say this both from hard data and my own personal successes and failures.
