Hi! My interview is on January 7 at 6:15am--so close!!! I am going to have my CFO guidance and counselling on January 6, a day before my interview. Will just get my CFO sticker at the airport right before departure--my flight.

Thank you! Actually I am stil a bit confused with the CFO-PDOS--I think i missed some information on where to get it--I intend to have it this Monday and do not want to be at the wrong place. No wonder--they have 3 different locations on the CFO map on their website, now I do not know where to go first. Where to take the PDOS Peer Counseling...geez...hehehe

QUESTION:

For those who will be taking the CFO-PDOS earlier before they get there visa--do they have a new process now? I am having it on Monday, Jan 6, right before my interview--I read a lot that people do not go directy to CFO but somewhere else to have their counseling, before they go to CFO to register...can anyone tell me how they did it? I was planning on going to CFO directly at dawn on Monday--suddenly I read somewhere I think my plan is a mistake. lol I need to confirm before heading there then...Will appreciate your advice! Thanks!

Yes, Greenbaum, I did read all there is to read about the CFO etc...I am an internet freak (hahaha!) and anywhere I go, I check every website and forum there is to read, google maps, etc. and plan in advance--hence, the confusion. lol

I keep going back to the CFO website and it says "To attend the Guidance and Counseling program of the CFO, you may proceed at CFO Manila or Cebu Office. " It didn't say you will go to CFO Manila to register after which you will go to PRISM or St. Mary's and take your seminar somewhereelse...or...also their table/graph just tells you the step by step process...it doesn't say where to go.

In forums I read however, it says--they all went to PRISM or St. Mary's...and THEN only did they go to CFO for registration.

Maybe I should stick to what the CFO says in their website, which is to go to CFO Manila directly and then...I cross the bridge when I get there. What worries me is that I have had so many experiences where the info on Philippine Gov't websites are incomplete and complicated.

I called PRISM and all numbers aren't working...hmmmm

Anyway Greenbaum, thank you for your advice! I will stick to the first plan and go to CFO Manila directly as their website suggests...fingers crossed.

Greenbaum? I went back to the CFO website--and searched and searched keeping in mind the answer is just there, as you said--somewhere there in one of the News and Announcements sa website nila, I found the answer!!! Hahaha! Thanks for the input, Now I am including my feedback below para sa mga mag-p-PDOS/Peer Counseling pa lang, in case may mga ma-co-confuse din gaya ko.

I came across a material at the Embassy of the Philippines and CFO Website. In my search, these articles did not come forthright--but thank God I found it to clarify my confusion. This means, my initial plan to go to CFO directly was correct! (But this announcement does not include PRISM--so there could still be a chance the peer counseling could still be held there, but I will take the announcement saying the seminar will be held at CFO Manila and Cebu exclusively) Geez...

I included the link below the article if you want to double check yourself. But for me, for now, I am going to CFO Manila directly for my PDOS/Peer Counseling.

CFO takes charge of the Guidance and Counseling Program

Beginning September 17, 2012, Monday the St. Mary's Euphrasia Foundation-Center for Overseas Workers will cease conducting the Guidance and Counseling Program for Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals. The Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) will be conducted EXCLUSIVELY at the CFO Main and Cebu Offices.

CFO is now in charge of the GCP and is only conducted at the Manila and Cebu offices. So stick with the plan to attend either one but remember Manila CFO class attendance is 15 in the morning and 15 in the afternoon so be early to get a seat as it is "first come, first served". Cebu is 12 and 12.

My fiancé completed her CFO just recently and is now in USA, arriving only 2 weeks ago. She flew from Mindanao to Manila on Thurs. arriving in the morning. Her initial plan was to go Friday morning for the CFO with her 20 yo daughter but thought "what the heck" she'll go over to CFO and see if there is an opening for the afternoon class on that Thurs of arrival. Sure enough, there was room for her in the afternoon segment, but the class for minors was only Friday. So she took her class and passed, and her daughter took the class on Friday and passed. So with visa in hand, and a fresh CFO sticker attached they boarded their flight on Sunday to USA. Whooo Whooo!!

You can do this. I think you are over complicating things. Relax, be strong and confident about your relationship and you too will be on a plane headed for your destination. Good luck!!
