Hi, I am the Fiance of K-1 process. I am trying to obtain criminal clearance certificates from countries that I have resided for over 6 months.

My question is, if I have lived in the US for nearly 3 years (2009-2012) on student visa, do I need to obtain criminal clearance from US, too? If I do, how do I do it since I am living in Taiwan now? Thank you!

interesting, I thought that you needed one for the US... the only thing I could find at the link was this:

Police Records

Available. Applicants must supply a police record certificate from their local police department and from any location where they have lived for more than six months after the age of 16. Applicants must also provide police records from other countries if they resided there for more than one year after the age of 16.

where did you find the thing about US residents not needing US police certificates?
