I-129F Sent to Wrong Service Center!

I used a visa agency in Californina to review my I-129F and supporting documents and instructed them to send it after making sure all was in order. Today I received the NOA1 and it came from the California service center instead of Nebraska (I live in Minnesota).

I'm more than a little upset - anyone know what sort of delays (if any) will this cause? Also, California is running 20-30 days behind Nebraska which could make it worse. I sent an email to the agency asking for an explanation, but no reply yet (not likely until after Christmas).

Don't worry. California is not running 'behind' Nebraska. The Nebraska & Texas service centers both send I-129F petitions on to California for processing - that's why your NOA1 came from California, not Nebraska.

So relax... and get on with finding ways to make the time pass while you wait for your NOA2! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Jeffk,

For some reason, only California and Vermont process K-1 petitions now. All petitions are transferred now. Yet, they still require one to file to Texas and Nebraska initially. Well, these are our tax dollars hard at work....Hopefully, they will fix that soon. No worries for you.

Is that mean that instead of sending our K1 petition to Nebraska Service Center, just send ours on Vermont or California? My petitioner is from Colorado.

You were never a mistake. You were my realization.

Read and follow the instructions as provided with the form. Colorado is NOT a Vermont (VSC) state. Colorado is a Nebraska (NSC) state. Send the petition to Nebraska and let them forward to CSC.

Last time I checked Colrado bordered Nebraska, not Vermont. C'mon people brush up on your geography. Do not send it straight to Cali. Send it where it says to send it. They will forward the docs o the service center that will handle it. Why are some of you so against following directions? Are you control freaks or what?

1/27/2007 Nerissa told me she received a ltr on Friday 26th from USE in Manila telling her they had our petition. I'm sure that's a GREAT thing.

I sent my forms to Texas who forwarded them yo CSC, Now my timeline shows the following information;

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as March 14, 2007*.

Someone on my friends list is showing an NOA1 dated a day after mine, but shows an estimated

Adjudication a month ahead of mine, the only difference being that TSC is still being shown.

I am confused!!!

Nebraska was the proper Service Center for your agent to send your case to. Nebraska forwards all K-1's to California Service Center. Nebraska is no longer in the fiance visa business... So, no worries, your case is where it is supposed to be.

The same applies to Texas Service Center, they also recieve K-1 applications then forward them to California...

Good luck on your journey!
