I emailed the Moscow consular unit about the possiblity of attending my fiance's K1 visa interview with him coming up here real soon!

They said I can. This is the exact conversation.

My Email...

"Principal:

Petitioner:

Case number:

Hi,

Am I allowed to attend my fiance's interview?

I will be traveling with him to Moscow for his interview.

I'm wondering where I am supposed to wait if I am not allowed to attend the interview with my fiance?

Thanks,"

The embassy's reply:

"You are welcome to attend the interview. Your name will be on the entrance list.

Sincerely,

Public Liaison Unit

Consular Section"

SO needless to say, I am thrilled!

Both Moscow and Kiev allow you to be present at the interview.

At my fiancee's interview in Kiev, the consular officer first asked me to take a seat while he spoke to my fiancee (I sat in the closest seat so was still able to hear the conversation), and then called me up and asked a few more questions (different questions, so not a stokes interview in any way). All together took about 3 minutes.

Yeah, you can do it in Moscow if you want. It's not a new practice, when I was getting ready for interview back in early 2012 it was allowed too for couples who would like to attend interview together and some of them did. Good luck!

Thanks Victor! I just didn't see a topid informing those who are going through the same part of the process as I, explaining that it is possible to attend the interview with your fiance! So it was great news for me and I just wanted to share the fact!

Well, it is a new practice for some of us old dogs. I had to wait outside in the cold and snow... actually went down the street to a cafe for a while. Was a 2 1/2 hour wait until she exited the building with her big smile.

I attended my fiancé's interview.! I strongly encourage it..

We made a vacation out of it, spent 10 days in Moscow, with our kids... the running around for the medical exam was the worst part..

Our interview was about 1-2 minutes... We were there with our children, once the interviewer saw this, he asked my son how he was enjoying Moscow... Then he said we were approved..

So go and enjoy.. :-)

SO needless to say, I am thrilled!

I attended my wife's (then Fiancee) interview and I was very glad to be there, she was glad I was there to. Takes about two hours give or take and the interview itself about 5 minutes or less. More waiting than anything else.

A little advice, get there early as you won't believe the line out front. Don't worry it moves quickly though. Don't take cell phones, computers, large bags, ect into the Embassy. You will make the woman who stores all that stuff, flip out! Once you are inside you will understand about the storage space.

Good Luck!:)

That is funny! Well I don't think I will be asked that question. :)

Thanks for the advice. I know not to bring a bunch of ####### with me to the interview. And we deffinately will be there EARLY!

I'm really confident my fiance will get his visa. I've read a lot of reviews people have written on here specifically about the Moscow Embassy. I never read a single review that said thier fiance was denied. We are going to be in Moscow in about 35 hours...and after that about 47 hours, we will know if he is approved. Can't wait!!!!

I received pretty much the same answer to my email to Moscow. I was thinking about joining my fiancé for a couple of reasons. First to be there with her as support, second to see her again in person since it has been over six months since our last time together, and lastly to be there with her to hopefully celebrate our big next step.

Good luck with your interview. We are planning for mid to late March to avoid the Olympics.

Hi, glad to hear that you had such a good experience. I have a question: were your children a part of the immigration visa that you applied for? (k2)

I ask because we have our interview tomorrow and I'd like to take our son with us; heck in fact I *must* take our son because we don't have anyone to babysit him. But he's gone through the CRBA process, so he is an American citizen. Therefore he isn't a part of Elena's (my fiance) visa. When we come back to America he'll go through the citizens-only line with me while Elena must go to the "foreigner" line (if you will). The website says that the petitioner is welcome to attend, but that's all. Hmmmmmm...well our son isn't a part of the visa we're applying for and he isn't the petitioner, so could he attend?

And did you have any baby/kid gear when you went? I am wondering if we'll be allowed to bring the stroller. I emailed the embassy today and asked, but I suspect they were very busy because I didn't receive a reply. It's my fault really, I should have sent the email last week, but it slipped my mind...

Thanks for any input!
