Being from Australia doesn't give you an advantage (or a disadvantage). It's taking about 8-9 months for the I-130, then two months for NVC to get your documents to Australia, then 4-6 weeks before your interview. Your estimate of one year is pretty spot on at the moment. There is always hope that the initial step (the USC's petition - I-130) could move a little faster in the future - but who knows?

My own case: I-130 received by USCIS on June 28th. 175 days later - still nothing.





Our Prior Journey

N-400 Naturalization

18-Feb-2018 - submitted N-400 online, credit card charged

18-Feb-2018 - NOA1

12-Mar-2018 - Biometrics 

18-June-2018 - Notice of interview received

26-July-2018 - Interview  - APPROVED!!!

26-July-2018 - Oath Ceremony Scheduled

17-Aug-2018 - Oath Ceremony

We're May 2013 filers and still waiting - I agree - around a year seems to be right.

Filed I-130 5 May 2013

NOA1 for I-130 received 21 May 2013

NOA2 for I-130 received 28 February 2014

Filed AOS 24 March 2014
