Hello,

I have been contacting my congresswoman, my Texas senator and USCIS to request expedite processing of my EAD. So far the response I received was that I need to provide proof that we will suffer extreme financial loss. My boss also is going to contact another congressman because he needs me to come back to work as soon as possible.

First of all, what does the definition of "financial loss" really entail? We are currently struggling to pay rent and we will not be able to afford January rent unless I return back to work before the end of the year. However, we could arrange with the apartment complex to pay January rent late... The biggest issue here is probably with my boss. He is calling me every day asking if I received any news from USCIS.

Also, do you have to be already in the financial hole in order to request expedite processing? We would like to expedite this process because we want to avoid falling into the hole...

Thank you for your help.

List your reasons for financial loss; non payment of rent which equals eviction, cannot pay medical premium etc. Send the required reply.

Is that it? A list would suffice? When I sent a letter to the congresswoman and the Texas Senator I explained in the letter that we will not be able to pay rent (and I actually also stated that we will not be able to pay health insurance premiums as well!) but yet they sent me a letter stating that they need proof.

I am even more confused now. I am just clueless as to what kind of proof they need. Do they need to see our bank statements maybe? A sworn statement signed in front of a notary?
