Hello guys!

I just got a mail from the Embassy in Frankfurt. They have have got our stuff now. Its approved and we are happy :) BUT: My fiancee and me do not know what exactly to do with the Affidavit of Support, since we didn't get any instructions dealing with this forms.

So my fiancee and her father have filled out everything, they got the 1040's and W2's ready and are just waiting on me to tell them what they are supposed to do. I thought they mail them to ME, i put them into the packet 3 and send it off to Frankfurt. But somewhere i read that i have to get them checked by the NVC in the states first... is that true? I'm really confused because nobody told us to do so and if we now have to send the Affidavit of Support to the NVC in the states first, everything will be delayed :(

I mean, what do they need to check? The 1040 and W2's are issued and approved by the government... right? So is it not enough to prove that they can support me?

So now my question: Do we have to send the forms forms to the NVC or can she just send it to me (Germany) and I send it to Frankfurt with the Packet 3???

I'd really appreciate some answers or advise!

Best regards,

George!

NVC does not do any doc intake for K-1 visa chasers.

The I-134 is usually given over on interview day, by the visa applicant.

Unsure if Frankfurt has other doc intake stuff, sorry.

According to the Embassy Information Page for Frankfurt, you have to send the Affidavit of Support to the embassy (along with the rest of your packet 3 stuff) before scheduling the interview. (#7 under WHAT FORMS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE CONSULATE?).

OH! Thank you very much :3 Maybe I confused NVC with USCIS blush.png excuse me guys. So there is nothing my fiancee has to do with the filled Affidavit of Support except completing it and sending it to me, so I can submit it? Am i right? :)

I just found this on

There is a long list with all the fees and also listed is: $88 for Affidavit of Support Review (only when reviewed domestically)... so would someone explain me how this works? :) thanks a lot in advance!

K-1 visa chasers pay a visa application fee somewhere - you'll be paying in Germany, somewhere, somehow.

as to the 88 buck fee - if you are reading that, then you are in the wrong place, as thats for CR-1/IR-1/CR-2/IR-2/5 visa chasers.

No, she just needs to fill out the affidavit and send it and the supporting documents to you. You send them to the embassy, and the embassy will verify them. The supporting documents are listed in the instructions for filing out the affidavit, but it includes a letter from her employer verifying that she is employed and what her salary is, a letter from her bank confirming her accounts, tax returns, etc. That'll be enough information for the embassy to make their decision.
