I am asking this question on the behalf of a friend (US Citizen) who is about to submit an I-129F application. It's been over 1.5 years since I've had to deal with the Fiance visa process. Am I reading the Processing Time correct? Is it presently a 6 month wait before the visa is approved?

Thanks.

It takes about 6-8 months before the visa process is complete. Do refer to the processing timelines link on this website.

Also, the processing times may vary based on your service center location.

Good Luck!!

Rimash,

Let me make sure I understand you ... you do mean 6-8 months before the I-129F itself is processed correct? This 6-8 months time frame does not include the visa being approved, then moving on to the Consulate of the Fiance'.

Sorry if this is exactly what you explained. I just want to be sure that I'm relaying correct information.

Thanks.

Boaz,

Rimash is saying that it is 6-8 months for the entire process: from I-129F submittal until the foreign beneficiary gets the visa in their passport. Of course, it may be shorter or longer depending on individual factors of the case, including the speed of the service center and the consulate.

01/30/10 - I-751 Removal of Conditions

02/01/10 - I-751 received at CSC 10:49 AM, signed for by L FAIRBANKS

02/03/10 - Check Cashed

Boaz,

Six months might be a good estimate for some combinations of USCIS Service Center and consulate, other combinations might take longer than six months. Look at the Immigration Timelines.

Boaz,

Starting from when - what event?

Yodrak

From the time the Service Center sends the NOA Receipt acknowledging that they received the Petition.

By the way - thanks for the responses so far - and thanks for the patience!

HI there,

My original post this morning was a typo...

My WHOLE process (from the day I sent the petition in the mail to the day of our consulate interview) was from March 13th to December 21st. So that's......... roughly 9 months and a week, give or take a day or two.

This was through London. Our service center was Texas, forwarded to California.

The people using Vermont are going a LOT faster, so hopefully you live in the northeast!

:)

EDIT Whoops I scrolled to the top and noticed you're using California.. sorry about that.

They took their SWEET time with us
