So I'm getting really tired of seeing my status update in the ceac website but not see or hear of any change.

How long roughly are people interviews scheduled for(the actual date) after their medical? My medical was 29rh November. And my status has been updated a few times since then.. Once about 4 days later which I'm guessing was the embassy receiving the results.

I sent my readiness form off on the 26th and the embassy website said it was processing forms received on or before the 29th then the 30th and now I see it says the 4th so I'd have thought that the other updates would have been them processing everything and scheduling and interview.

My fiancée called the DoS and it still hasn't been scheduled. >:(

So in a round about way.. How long since the medical date are the interview dates normally?

And how far in advance of the interview date/how long after the medical date do people normally get their appointment letter?

I just want to get some ball park idea so I can plan the next few weeks. Will I still be here in January, will I not? Grrr!

They tell people it takes about 6 weeks from getting the last bit of info back (be that DS forms or med results) to get you an interview date.

You can keep checking in with DoS, since sometimes the letter goes missing.

Thanks! I think you have helped me out before.

So I see on your time line it was about three weeks though. That looks typical for most people.

Am I right in thinking then that if my medical was 29th Nov that my interview should be around the 22nd December or something like that?

If so, would it have been scheduled by now? I guess I'm also trying to see how much notice in advance they give you from scheduling it, to the actual appointment.

My timeline was before they changed the DS-2001 to an online form - mine was a mail in with a cover letter where I had the chance to explain I needed to travel soon, so I got my appointment a bit quicker than some.

I've seen folks getting appointments for January in London, so December may be full already (plus, December has more bank holidays + staff vacation). It's a busy month.

Slightly unrelated but how long did people normally wait for their interview appointment (the actual date) after their medical. My medical was 29th November. When shook my interview be roughly?

Sent my readiness form on the 26th November by the way so they have EVERYTHING

See the red writing on this page with the readiness form http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness.html

Many waited that long. It's kinda unpredictable really

I see.

Yeah I know, kinda bad timing really as I'm sure everything will sort of shut down over Christmas and new year. Thought that I might just get in there before.

So ready for this to be done with now. At least I'll be with her for the AOS and all the fun that comes with that part of the process. This bit now is just annoying as I'm sure you remember.

Yeh I knew that when I sent it. I just wasn't sure if it was like "it could take up to 6 weeks (probably less) or it WILL take 6 weeks.

I see a lot of people with like 3 so I just thought I'd put it out there and see other experiences that people had with it.

A good way to look at the most recent people is--

Look in the blue menu bar above and click Portals.

Then look in the right column for "Recent Visa Approvals" and "Upcoming Interviews". Click on a name to see their timeline. The times change and vary case to case, but those are current London people and may give you an idea of the trend du jour. Somebody 6 months ago isn't really valid for now because it changes. You can see a graphical representation of consulate processing time changes on this page http://www.visajourney.com/content/consulate-k1-historical. Find London and see the roller coaster look.

If you've seen a few "touches" or status date changes on CEAC status page and it's been about 2 weeks since your interview and filling in your readiness form, you could probably call CEAC to check to see if they have scheduled you. CEAC's contact number is (202) 485-7600. If you get a busy signal, keep trying to call. Early morning (after 8:30am) is best to get through.

That's what we did...called 12 days after my fiance's exam and filling in his readiness online form and they gave us the date over the phone, which was scheduled for approximately 3 weeks after the day I called. Check our profile for our story timeline.

I've only just seen this, sorry for the late reply! That's perfect, I know we can call the DoS, we did this yesterday and it's still not scheduled :( which is strange as the embassy website have updated numerous times saying processing forms from the 29th nov, 1st December, 4th and now the 7th! Makes me wonder why they haven't processed and scheduled mine from November if they've worked through the first week of December already...

But that's good, thank you for the timeline kinda thing... So give or take, the interview was about 4 weeks after the form was submitted and medical etc ? And they could tell you this date 12 days after?

I've just hit the 14 day mark from sending the readiness form and it will be two weeks on Friday since the medical. So based on that, I should get the appointment scheduled any day now if it's anything like your case.

Thanks again! (Correct me if I am wrong with any of that)

I don't even really know why they're bothering to tell people what readiness forms they're processing. It's not a helpful thing to know, it seems. More like they're acknowledging you're in a NEW AND EXCITING pile of paper if you submitted your forms before that date (or rather, that's the 6 weeks or less bucket you're now sat in). I wish they'd be a bit more transparent.

Haha you sound like my kind of person! :P it's certainly very NEW AND EXCITING -_- yeah I wish they would too. There's a lot of things I wish they would do! I guess I should have known, I'll sort of take the "we are no processing forms on or before..." Page with a pinch of salt then shall I..

Yeah. That's the one I thought you meant. It's not been around long - maybe a month or two. I've yet to notice a correlation with that and people getting interview letters, but I've not been terribly scientific with my noticing methods. :)
