Hi there!

Going through the checklist again I found out that there are 2 points on the evidenche which are:

1)Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page attachment regarding question '34.a' of the I-129F. Make sure to sign and date it.

2) Proof of having met in the past two years.

Just wondering if these two are the same or the are slight differences and are needed in different pieces of paper.

Thanks for always helping! :)

The first one declaration how you met, my fiancé wrote the circumstances of how we know each other, where and when we actually met in person, why he fell in love with me, our plans of getting married, etc etc...it is like a story typed on a single page, single space...signed and dated by my fiancé.

Then the proof of having met in person, airline tickets, immigration entry and exit in the passports, boarding passes, pictures (date, place and people in the pic written at the back), hotel receipts, resto receipts, Facebook postings of the meeting...these were what we submitted when we filed the I-129f Oct.2012.

The two are not the same.

For our case we had an affidavit(one for each of us, signed and notarized) describing how and where we met, how we stay in touch, our engagement, and our wedding plans. Then we included 6 pictures of us together with dates and locations listed, and my boarding passes and receipts from things I bought while visiting my fiancé in India. The affidavit was our declaration and the pictures and receipts were our supporting documents. They were separate documents for us. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies.

So I guess 1 page is enough for the declaration on how we met. But I have seen other people recommend 2 or more, I have even heard about 50+ pages on this including the support documents. Is this even neccesary? Will it be ok to have only 1 page on the declaration and about 10 pages on supporting documents? (emails, chat logs, phots, etc)

They are the same thing. The answer to the question should be as big as the box is on the form; a long dissertation on a separate sheet of paper is not required.

You don't need to write a whole page, or even a book about your circumstances of meeting. Just need to write enough to fit in the box on the form. A simple "We met on (DATE) at (PLACE) for the first time" would suffice, and simply provide evidence of that meeting by passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts, photos, etc.

You are more than welcome to write your "story" of how you met, but the consulate officer will read your story at the embassy and ask your fiance questions about it during the interview.

One page. Don't give them more than they need. The more verbiage you give them, the more cannon fodder they will have to question your fiance and get her to make a mistake.

One page.

And make sure she knows what you wrote so well that she can recite it in her sleep.

Our declaration of how we met was simply two paragraphs (1 page). First paragraph stating how we came to know each other, the second paragraph stating how we met in person (date, time, duration of his stay here in my country, who he met and places/tourist spots we visited). Be concise about it, they are not interested in how much you love staring at each other's eyes, they just want to know the details of your meeting in person.
