My fiance Jessie and I met in March 2013 on an Indian matrimonial site. I had been to India 6 months earlier and loved the people and culture and made a few friends back in the US. One day I saw a commercial for this site and I decided to join because I would love to marry an Indian woman. Within a week of joining we met and began emailing each other. We talked every few days at first and then daily by the end of the month. By mid-April we decided we wanted to be serious and committed partners and on May 4th I proposed to her over Skype. We continued talking daily sometimes 8-10 hours a day and fell in love completely and at the end of August I went to India to meet her in person and to have a formal engagement ceremony. We got engaged on September 4th and I returned to the US a week later and we began our visa journey. We hope to marry summer 2014 in Chicago where I am living.
