On the letter telling me the interview date (London Embassy) it says that I need to register for the Embassy's courier service. Do I do this now or at the Embassy? I'm applying for an IR1 visa...

Thanks!

Congratulations! The registering thing must be online on the web of the embassy on your country. An if is online YES you must to register if you have the interview letter from NVC. Wish you luck!

We didn't register with the courier service ourselves so my guess is that it is all handled by the Embassy. We got a phone call from the courier informing us when they would be delivering the packets but that was our only direct contact with them. Of course, it could be it depends where in the UK you reside because that may then mean a different courier is handling your paperwork.

Best wishes

Laura

You do it now, in advance of the interview (exactly as outlined in the interview letter). You take the confirmation email to the interview with you, and they will ask for it the first time you are called up to a window.

It should be outlined in the interview letter :) They give you a URL to go to and step by step instructions. Just make sure you pay the required fee before the interview. The last day you are able to pay is the day before, so make sure and do it.

My husband's visa interview at the London Embassy is next week and I'm a bit confused on payment for the visa.

Can someone confirm, that has recently been for an interview, do you pay in person on the day? How much? and what method can you use? ie., British debit cards, american credit card, cash ? Is it $230?

Also, I know they do not issue the actual visa in your passport and we have to set up a courier. Will my husband at least find out if he is approved for a visa the day of his interview?

I am an American originally from Mississippi. Met my British husband in 1996. Married in 2004. Have lived in the UK for 9 years. We have two children. Hoping to move back to the USA with my husband, twins, two cats and dog in tow. 22 Oct 2013: Mailed I-130 application to DCE- London Embassy25 Oct 2013: Noticed application fee processed on my credit card.25 Oct 2013: NOA1 received (found in spam folder)19 Nov 2013: NOA2 received22 Nov 2013: Visa Interview Checklist arrived via post.25 Nov 2013:Completed DS-260 electronic application25 Nov 2013: Visa Interview Checklist Complete9 Dec 2013:Medical Examination13 Dec 2013: Submission of the notification of applicant readiness form 8 January 2014: Interview date assigned at Embassy in London 23 January 2014: Interview APPROVED! :-)<p>1 June 2014: Port of entry:NC

So, I'm logging into the website given on my interview letter to register with a courier and it is asking for "Visa Class" with a drop down menu. We are getting IR-1 visa but that isn't an option in the drop down menu? Anyone know which one I am to choose? There are several otherwise I would list them here... headbonk.gif

Also, it asks for a ds160 number. But, my husband did the ds260!

I am doing this now. In the drop down menu for Visa Class...do you remember what you chose? There isn't an option for IR1. I'm confused about this. Also it is asking for a DS 160 number but, my husband completed a DS 250. he has a confirmation number? Is that what they want? Or, are they wanting the LND number?

Can you tell me if you paid for the visa on the day (I think it is $230?) What methods can you use for payment?

You're probably logging in as a non immigrant visa applicant so check to make sure it says immigrant visa instead. If not then someone else may have another solution for you as I'm new to this as well, good luck.

Four months ago I paid for my interview online, don't think its changed in that short time. There is no extra charge for a visa if you get approved. And yes they do let you know that you are approved there and then. The interview is probably the easiest part of the whole process, it's more like a chat than an interview.

Thank you for the reply. What was the fee for the interview? Sorry if I am being daft. I don't understand how much and for what we are paying fo r on the day of the interview.

Apologies. Only found this one after I had posted the other. I didn't spot this thread the first time I searched.
