I married my husband July 1.

I placed my aplication to change status I-485 and Work Permit Aug 3. Received my work permit in Oct. We moved to a bigger place and both filled for change of address a week ago. We have recieve the notification that our address has been changed for both my hubby and me. They also sent me notification almost a month ago that they have 60 days to complete my process and that 60 days is coming up on end of January. I have no interview date yet. They have not asked for more evidence. Also, the processing time for I-485 in California is pass my date by more than 30 days. Now I just received 3 USCIS email notification that a NEW CARD is being processed and will be sent to me within 30 days. WHAT IS THAT CARD??? WHAT COULD IT BE??? can someone explain this to me? Is it another work permit since we moved to a new address?

Has anyone gone through this and can explain what this new card is? :help

Does the email reference a case type or receipt number. If so, check to see if it matches your AOS receipt number. It sounds like you may have been approved for the green card without interview.

P.S. You might have gotten more responses if you had posted this in the AOS forum.

Usually the email references some type of case, such as I-485 or I-765, etc. Check the subject line of the email or the top of the body of the email to see if it is talking about the Green Card or Work Authorization.

You may have been approved for the GC without an interview. If so, congrats!!!!!

Best wishes.

This is what the email said:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR

TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On December 19, 2006, we ordered production of your new card. Please

allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something

from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card,

call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we

process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

IF this is the green card. Will we still go to an interview later on? Also what is the AOS forum and how do I get there?

It says "Application Type: I-485"..... so the card is definitely the GC.

You will not be required to go to an interview now that you are approved and the card is on its way.

When you post, you need to pick which "forum" you want to post in. So, go to the "Forums" tab at the top of the page, and then find the forum that pertains to your question, and post your question in that forum by clicking the appropriate forum, then "new topic".
