Hi!

I'm Sarah's husband and Sarah has asked me to check some information for her before she flies out to the U.S. from Tacloban City, Philippines on December 15th. It appears that everything's in order as far as I can tell (her visa was approved in October). She has her visa info, medical info, passport and CFO sticker. Sarah's currently in Tacloban and assessing the damage to their home as well as the never ending task of trying to clean up after Yolanda. Our communication is extremely limited each day....basically down to a handful of texts which makes it difficult to relay important information as we prep for her to leave.

She's asked me to ask if there might be any more information or documents that she'll need either for her flight from Manila or once she arrives at her port of entry in the U.S. other than the things I mentioned previously. She has relied heavily on info in the past from VJ and has been so very appreciative of the info she's received and speaks very highly of how willing people are here on this site to help so this was the first place i wanted to come.

I appreciate any and all information you can provide and I'll pass it on to her so she can make the final preparations for her trip here.

Thanks!

Randy

I hope her family in Tacloban is okay. smile.png

If travel tax (1,620 pesos) is not yet included in her air fare, she would have to pay for it at the airport PLUS terminal fee (550 pesos).

Send her about $ 500.00 travel money in case something happens and she misses a connecting flight.

Nothing like getting stuck in a city with no money in your pocket.

Tell her to put her documents in her purse and to NEVER EVER let them out of her sight.

The last thing she wants to have happen is to get the POE and someone else grab her bag containing the documents in error from the overhead holding compartmetn on the plane. This would be terrible issue to deal with.

She should keep her documents on her at all times except when required by security. Do not pack her visa package in her checked baggage. I agree that she should bring some spending money in case there is unforeseen difficulty somewhere. Best wishes to the both of you. I hope her friends and family are okay. I know it must be extremely difficult to be leaving them at this time.
