Thank you for your email inquiry.

We wish to inform you that neither the name of the applicant or the case number shows up in the U.S. Embassy Accra system. This case is awaiting appointment scheduling for the U. S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana. Unfortunately, we are unable to predict when these cases will be scheduled for an interview.

A word about the process: Immigrant visa petitions are processed in the order that they are received at the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC retains the approved petition until the case is ready for adjudication by a consular officer abroad. Petitions may remain at NVC for several months or for many years depending on the visa category and country of birth of the visa applicant, and how quickly the petitioner submits all the required documents fees. Another factor is the resources available at the designated overseas embassy or consulate. NVC holds the cases until an interview is available.

Here are some helpful tips:

  • Read all of the NVC’s instructions thoroughly.
  • Submit all requested documents and fees to NVC as quickly as possible
  • When you do have an interview scheduled, read our instructions.
  • Make sure you bring all the required documents to you interview.

For more information about the process, please reference our Frequently Asked Questions.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,

U.S. Embassy Accra

Hi Canadian Wife, I emailed them asking what to do next after My Fiance received the notice of approval letter. In the mail I included the case number, my name, petitioner and Beneficiary number and i got the above response. Uscis received the petition on 30th October, 2013, they mailed my Fiance the notice of approval on 25th November, 2013 but they actually approved it on the 15th November, 2013. And we are stuck not knowing what to do next.

KayG is the embassy not supposed to contact us? when I called and told the lady that it was approved on the 15th November, she said I should on and try contacting them again nextweek. then I had that response to the mail. actually I had two different responses because i read on their website if I dont get an automated response then it means my email hasn't been received so I sent about 2 emails out with the same wording and here is the first response I got:

Thank you for your email inquiry.

Please provide us with further details such as the applicant’s full name, date of birth and case number so that we can assist you with the right type of information. A case number starts with ACC and is followed by a 10-digit number.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,

U.S. Embassy Accra

it normally takes about 1 week from you got the letter to arrive in Ghana through DHL OR FEDEX... so is next week then...if after next week they still have not contacted you call them to find out.... also you can let your fiancee call USCIS or NVC to find out after a week from now.

when was ur alien number changed?

Ok. Then I will wait till next week. After the we submitted the petition, I was assigned a beneficiary number instead of the alien number so I guess it occurred at the same time as the approval. I am not too sure though. Thank you very much Kay G you have been most helpful. What stage are you in?

The email response you received is a generic response stating that they do not yet have your approved I-129f petition, and cannot begin processing your case until they have that from the NVC.

From what am reading on ur post, you just got ur petition approved by USCIS, Your next stage is the NVC. USCIS is going to forward ur petition to the NVC for them to assign you a case number before forwarding it to the embassy. It usually takes about 1-8weeks for USCIS to receive and assign a case number but once they assign it, they usually ship it to the consulate within a week or two. so what you have to do now is wait for about a week or two and start calling NVC for ur case number, you can call them atleast next week and see if they have received ur petition and assigned a case number. from there you can check ur case number on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? to check the status of your case.Once the consulate receives it then u can send them a mail within a week to ask when you can receive ur packets which includes ur interview date. Good luck!
