Hi All,

I'd really appreciate some help. I married an American 3 1/2 years ago (I am UK citizen) and we divorced about 2 1/2 years ago. During the divorce he said he would get the application to USCIS withdrawn. I haven't heard from them, or him since (thank God). Anyway I have in the last two months received emails from USCIS, one telling me that my application has been revoked and the most recent telling me it's at inital review stage??? What the hell!! How can it be at inital review stage when it was withdrawn years ago. I called them and they couldn't tell me anything about my case, but they would write to me and I said that they probably had an old address on their system. They then said I had to fill in a change of address form, which asks me for my old address..............I've moved like 4 times since then and have no idea what the address in America was, so I can't complete the form. I just want to make sure that this application is withdrawn and that it is reflect on their systems, but it seems that only the petition can withdraw the application and I am not in contact with my ex.

Can anyone shed some light as I am so frustrated that I can't seem to do something so simple as withdraw this application which was meant to have been done years ago. As you can imagine it's triggered some rather painful associations that I really wanted to move on from.

You are the beneficiary of said petition, not the petitioner, so they will not talk to you about it. The online system is often incorrect, so I would not worry about it in the least. A change of address doesn't apply to you because that form is not "yours."
