So I went looking through existing threads and found this,

K1 process = $1650 + £286.50

$340 (USCIS) I-129F
$240 (Embassy) Visa fee
£45 ACPO Police certificate
£227 (Knightsbridge Doctors) medical exam
£14.50 (DX Secure) Courier fee
$1070 (USCIS) Adjustment of Status/Work Authorization/Advance Parole

I believe it was posted around April of this year, by the very helpful Nich-Nick

I was wondering if this is all the same, or have things gone up or down in price, or any additional fees? Is this like...EVERYTHING we will be required to pay to USCIS/London embassy themselves? (I know it's not including passport photo fees and travel etc) I just don't want to be surprised with a fee I didn't expect at the embassy and not have enough money with me to pay it, or something xD

Also am I correct in thinking that work authorization and advance parole actually DO have a fee, but if you apply for them with AOS, the fee is waived?

We've already done/been approved for I-129f, so minus the $340 for us, and I also need to get myself a long certificate (as mines one of the short ones) which is another £10. :P woo

The fees for filing and visa fee is the same.

Not sure about medical and police certificate since that is under the doctor's fees/country police certificate and it's different for every country. Same fees apply for every country for I-129F, AOS, and visa fees.

AP and EAD during K1 AOS fees are waived good.gif

The list of fees looks the same and seems complete to me.

Depending on your medical history and vaccination history, you may have to pay a civil surgeon in the US to complete the I-693 for the AOS and those fees vary. Also do not forget about the ROC fees of $590 and any costs in sending original signature documents back and forth--that was $200 for us.

Good luck,

Dave

Updated courier fee

These are the fixed fees. You will have other costs as you said.

K1 route = $1680 + £280

$340 (USCIS) I-129F petition

$240 (Embassy) Visa fee

£45 ACPO Police certificate

£235 (Knightsbridge Doctors) medical exam

$30 Courier fee if home delivery, $0 to pick up at a depot

$1070 (USCIS) Adjustment of Status/Work Authorization/Advance Parole

petition fee-done

Pay the police certificate when you order.

Pay the clinic on the day of the exam.

You pay the visa fee and courier in advance of the interview, once you get an appointment letter.

Adjustment of Status is a whole new process paid after you marry.

Get your shots before you go to Knightsbridge and skip the civil surgeon in the US. Most get them free on NHS, but your doctor could charge.

Although those fees are correct, I would hope anyone would know to budget generous additions for things like marriage licenses, certified copies of documents and marriage records, passport photos, extra vaccinations/doctor certifications, notarized copies, etc, in addition to the huge costs of travel expenses and moving. This is a not a cheap process, and honestly, the USCIS fees have been the least of my worries! It's the moving expenses, all the costs involved in setting up a new life together and adjusting to a new country, and many other day-to-day elements that seem to be eating away at our funds. It's all worth every penny -- but it's not cheap! smile.png

Thankyou everyone for your responses, and thank you Nick-Nick for your updated fees also! :)

And yeah, we're trying to prepare for everything, so I just wanted to be sure how much to set aside for the K1/AOS process itself to have a good idea of how much we will have for everything else :P

Hi all,

What is the

"$1070 (USCIS) Adjustment of Status/Work Authorization/Advance Parole"?

Is this an option to be able to work before getting the green card? Or is it mandatory?

Thanks
