A Chicago teen who was unable to give his mother a kidney is giving one to a stranger, so that his mother can get a transplant from another donor.

WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports Tevin Hamilton was just six years old when he learned his mom needed a kidney.

“When I first found out, it was kind of sad, because I was like, ‘Now she’s helpless,’ and I want to save her,” Hamilton said.

And save her you did. That will do young man, that will do.

It's so easy to focus on the negative, when I saw this story I had to post it.

Glad you did.

This kid has been waiting for 12 years to help his mom. Compare that to the amount of complaining I did over waiting a few months for the NOA2. Kind of puts it in perspective.

And now he gets to help her and someone else. You can't beat that.

I feel you, I felt bad when I was whining for my wife's paperwork(which was done lightning speed compared to others I found out later) it's all so tiny.

That's love for youheart.gif

Same here. Can't believe the current CR-1 processing times. We've been waiting 7 months for the visa (almost there) but as much as it shocks those outside of this whole thing, that's nothing, comparatively speaking.
