Hi! Paid today (November 16) around 11:00AM at a BPI branch. They gave me a Customer Copy of the deposit slip with a 9-digit receipt number. At the back, they also printed the same receipt number. They said it normally takes 4-8 hours for the payment to be updated online. I'm trying to schedule an appointment now (11:30PM) but it keeps saying it is an invalid number. Anyone who has thoughts on this? Would it matter that I paid on a Saturday? Thanks!

They may say 4-8 hours, but most times it is more like 12-24 hours. Other thought is the embassy is not open on the weekends so the visa payment may not be updated until Monday.

Wait a day and try.

We paid on a Saturday too and didn't get to book until Monday. Good luck!

So you are not waiting for the instruction letter from the embassy to schedule your interview? My fiance is afraid to do that because she was told on the phone she needed that.

no need to wait for the instruction letter, you can find it online. it takes a long time, if you receive it at all. as soon as you get your case number, you can pay the visa fee, schedule your interview and go to SLEC for medical. dont wait too long because slots are filling up fast. I think the next available appointment is like January 2014.

follow hank's guide. everything you need to know is on it: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

i just had my interview 3 days ago without that letter and had no problems at all

1st) The embassy does not mail out the instruction letter, they mail out an eligibility letter and that has a URL to the embassy instructions letter online, but that URL is readily available on the USEM website or a variety of other sources.

2nd) Very few ever get that eligibility letter in the mail, and those that sit around waiting for that letter to arrive wait for months.... or forever

If you fiancee wants to get her visa and fly to the USA in the near future... she won't wait for "that letter" wink.png

Hi Hank,

That is what I thought. My fiancé is just having a hard time with it. She is afraid if she does not follow the instructions that were given to her on the phone it will cause problems. I will show her this thread and I hope this will put her mind at ease. Thank you
