Original and Photocopy of Visa for CFO? But it is sealed!

Hello All,

Wow! My fiancee and I are so excited as her Visa is on its way via 2GO as we speak.

I have a few questions for anyone who has already received their Visa and been to the CFO:

1. When she receives her Visa, I have heard that she can open the plastic part to retrieve her passport. Is this correct? Are you sure? (Sorry to ask, but we don't want to mess this up.)

2. Since the visa must remain sealed in the envelope, how can she photocopy it for the CFO?(CFO requires "Original and photocopy of visa")

3. Is the sealed envelope what she needs to take to the CFO? Or something else? (CFO requires "Original and photocopy of visa")

Thank you all SO much for your replies. We are getting down to the last part of this "journey" and don't want anything to go wrong. Barbara has to fly and stay in a hotel to attend the CFO.

Thanks!!!

Joe

Yes you can open the plastic bag to get the passport out, the visa is affixed on one of the pages of the passport. No issues making copies.

What you can't open or damage the DO NOT OPEN envelope that is also in the plastic bag. We left that inside the plastic bag, then kept it safe until travel time when we moved it to our carry on bag..

So the visa is in the passport? So the "DO NOT OPEN" envelope does not contain the visa? Just confirming to make sure I understand.

If that is correct, then when she goes to the CFO she can leave the envelope at home? Just take the passport and the visa inside of it?

Thanks a lot!

Joe

Visas are always placed in a passport.

As Hank said, Visa is afixed to a page in the passport. You can take the passport out of the plastic 2GO bag. The brown paper folder with "Do Not Open" is the one not to touch and can be left at home. Just a heads up, its standard that the corner will be cut off that brown envelope if I remember correctly.

Bring the whole package at the CFO coz she also needs the Immigrant data summary Xeroxed. Don't detached that from the brown packet. Xerox copier there at the CFO Xerox that portion together with the whole package so it will not be mesed up. CFO copier there near the CFO knows what to do. I did the same. I hope this info helped. God bless!

K-1 does not have an Immigrant data sheet (not an immigrant visa). So do NOT bring the whole package to CFO.

Wow! Thanks all for the information. I didn't know the Visa was attached in the passport. And thanks for all the other posts too. Very helpful. I cannot see the package from half way around the world...but I am trying to help my fiancee as much as possible. You all came through for me once again.

Thanks again!

Joe
