I was wondering if someone could give me an rough estimate for the cost of the k-1 visa application. My fiancee being the us citizen is paying the petition. But I kinda want to save up a bit first so I have enough to cover in case of mistakes.

* - 18th August 2014 - I-129f Sent

* - 21st August 2015 - Recived at CSC

* - 30th September - NOA 1 Received

* - 3rd November - NOA 2 Received

-- was never sent to NVC, got it re approved --

* - 9th January - NOA 2 approved

* - 13th January - Notice from CSC that it was sent this time to NVC

* - 21st January - Received at NVC

* - 22nd January - Case Number assisgned

* - 31st January - left NVC for London

* - 6th Feb - Arrived at Embassy

* - 10th Feb - Packet 3 Received and DS-160 Filled out.

* - 25th February - Medical :dancing:

* - 26th February - readiness form sent

* - 7th April - Interview - approved

* - 14th April - Visa in hand.

* - 17th April Tickets booked http://itsalmo.st/#timetofly

I was wondering if someone could give me an rough estimate for the cost of the k-1 visa application. My fiancee being the us citizen is paying the petition. But I kinda want to save up a bit first so I have enough to cover in case of mistakes.

1. $340 to file the I-129F petition.

2. Once your petition has been approved, you will need to make a $240 visa issuance fee to the Consulate you are interviewing at. You will also need to pay for a medical examination/vaccinations, the costs vary by country.

3. Once you have entered the US on your K1 visa and married your fiance, you will need to file for Adjustment of Status (to get your green card/legal permanent resident status). That is $1070.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

K1 (I-129F) petition filed in August 2013 (Approved Feb 20th 2014)
13th May 2014: AOS (I-485) & EAD/AP combo card
21st May 2014: NOA 1 and biometric letter
11th June 2014: biometric appointment
13th June 2014: RFE received via mail
16th June 2014: replied to RFE
6th August 2014: EAD Approved, AP still in initial review
12th August 2014: got tracking number for EAD
( ) August 2014: Received EAD (I forgot what date I got them but I did receive them less than 5 days from the 12th)
10th September 2014: Interview Waiver received (I wished I was interviewed)
April 23, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice

The fees for EAD and AP are waived if you are adjusting status from a K1 visa, so $1070 covers it all. :)

I meant mistakes as in maybe I need to send something twice or I have to have an extra interview. Any idea of costs for medicals and things in UK. And do they schedule medicals? Or have a preffered doc

Set aside like $150 for shipping additional things, forms with original signatures and the such. That should more than cover it. UK Medical is only done in Knightsbridge, and they send the results directly to the embassy. Once the embassy receives your case from the NVC they'll send you information on how to schedule an medical appointment and pay the $240 and courier fees for the visa.

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

Seems it cost 210 pounds, 240 if they require you take a drug test.
