Hi together,

I don't why that happened but there was a letter send to my first address in the US (my father in law lives there). It's about time for my to send in my package but since my father in law didn't want to open the letter and just forwarded to us, I don't know what the letter is or was all about. It has been now over a week since he send it and I do believe that it maybe got lost.

What could that letter be about?

Any ideas?

If it was to your old address, it must be the general reminder letter, that a few get, when it is time to file I-751. If you have filed I751 in time with new address, then all correspondence associated with the I-751 will be sent to the address given in the I-751 filed. So there is nothing to worry.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC

Thank you so much for your answer.

The thing that makes me nervous is, that I am about to fly to Germany today for 9 days. Since I don't know what the heck is showing in that letter I don't feel comfortable.

What would you make in my situation.

Now when I just recalculated, my 90 days time frame opens on 11/11/2013 which is veterans day, so the US Postal Service is closed which means I can,t send the package, I would have to wait all the way to 11/18/2013 because I work when the postal service opens and I get off when the postal service closes. Don't know what to do and my tummy is hurting.

Should I rather cancel my flight? What would you guys do in my situation? I just also talked to my parents and they said do whatever is the best, they would be sad but do understand that this is important and they don't want me to have more to worry about.

I need to do the smart thing...not something just out of I want to see my family feeling!

You don't have to cancel your trip.

You can send your I-751 application anytime in the 90 days frame. I've sent my application 40 days before the 90 days would be up. And it was ok.

Ok, thank you for your answer, that makes me feel a little bit better, it is just that weird crazy feeling that I have since I don't know for sure what that letter is all about! It drives me so nuts and sometimes people say you better listen to what you feeling is saying!

I know, I was on a trip in my home country when I've received the same letter. I told my husband "just open it and read it for me right now! " :D

I still felt weird even after I've found out it's just that reminder.

Relax, what else can you do?

Have fun in your trip and good luck with your application!

Yeah I will try lol. We will see I will make my final decision later today. If I don't go I at least know my parents are ok about it and they will not be upset.

Good luck and don't worry about it :) If you haven't sent in anything yet then there really isn't anything important to worry about.

I never received a letter at all for the reminder - I mean according to letter I got when I got my conditional GC USCIS claim there won't be any reminder letters sent so I'm even surprised some have gotten it.

Have fun! Don't let this USCIS consume (I know because it did for me).

ROC Journey:

4/24/13 - Submitted I-751 application

4/26/13 - I-751 officially filed

6/11/13 - Biometrics done

8/14/13 - Rec'd RFE

9/21/13 - Submitted RFE response

9/23/13 - RFE response rec'd at VSC

(about 2 months later)

11/21/13 - Service request via Tier 1 submitted

12/11/13 - Response to service request rec'd - vague info about processing times

12/12/13 - Service request via Tier 2 submitted

12/10/13 - APPROVED!!! (letter rec'd 12/14/13)

12/16/13 - 2nd Service request response rec'd

12/17/13 - Card production email/text rec'd (online case updated)!

12/24/13 - Notification rec'd via email regarding card mailed on 12/23/13 (online case updated as well)

12/26/13 - 10-yr card rec'd!

One thing I have learned on this journey:

There is no such thing as an "overkill" evidence package. Submit anything and everything you can. Who knows what will prevent you from getting an RFE.

Its funny they officially state no notification will be sent and then they send a letter. I was on top of ours but it was nice to get a letter.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

What happens if the letter was just send back to USCIS? I do believe this is what happened after my FIL tried to forward the letter to us.
