This has probably been asked countless times, but for my own sake of mind, and as this is the most important step of my life, I am asking if someone can guide me into properly filing for my Wife to come to the USA.

Some background:

I was born and currently live in New York. My wife and I got married exactly a month ago in Pakistan. I have known her for close a decade, and we have met 2007 and 2011 (and most recently 2013).

In preparing my application, I know I need the following:

1. I-130 completed

2. G-325a completed and signed for both me and my wife.

3. Passport size pictures of each.

4. Evidence of marriage

I will include a copy of our original marriage certificate, as well as a copy (do i need to include an original?) of an attested English translation that my wife is sending me. ( I also have countless pictures of our wedding, and many chat logs and emails).

Do i need an affidavit from myself and/or my wife stating that we are married? What about other family members that have witnessed the wedding? (the only US citizen to witness it was my mother).

5. Copy of my birth certificate, and a copy (again can this be a copy?) of an attested english-translation of her birth certificate.

6. All of this with a cover letter (including details of contents)

7. And of course the filing fee.

What more must/should i include?

How can I make this process as easy and quick as possible?

At the bottom of this link is a list of evidence you can send with your petition http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse I recommend sending as much as you can because of your wife's home country.

Also you don't need to include a copy of your wife's birth certificate.

I agree with NLR. You need to send in evidence of a bona fide relationship. A marriage certificate is evidence that a wedding took place, not that there is a genuine relationship.

I sent in: affidavits attesting to the ongoing nature of our relationship (from me, my husband, his father, both of my parents, my sister, my coworker, and 2 friends), records of emails and chat messages exchanged and phone calls (skype) between us, greeting cards given to each other, several pages of photos of us together (with my family, with his family, on various occasions), etc.

All documents, other than completed forms, must be photocopies or original certified documents. If you submit originals you will most likely never see them again.

Suggestion: include two passports photos for each of you. (one needed as per instructions, but RFEs happen)

Also, include her BC as well. Photocopy of original BC and a photocopy of its translation (both not needed as per instructions, but again, RFEs happen)

Do you have any evidence of commingling of finances? e.g. joint bank accounts, leases, life insurance etc.

Do you have any photos of the two of you?

Evidence of communication between the two of you?

Also : http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/g-1145.pdf and put that on the very top of your petition

Good luck :)

When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, no one can ever tear them apart.
