My fiancee has keloid on her earlobe. A keloid is a growth of scar tissue from a previous surgery. She can have it surgically removed beforehand I think, but do you think we'll have an issue at our medical? Do you think it'll do me much good to call the actual doctor that our exam is at and see if it'll be a problem?

It won't be an issue. Don't worry.

What they're concerned about is drug use, syphilis, tuberculosis, history of depression and suicidal tendencies/attempts.

Okay. I've read things here on VJ about scar issues and having to go back to the medical a second time. We'd like to prevent that because it's 8 hours away.

How is history with depression bad? She had depression as a teenager, who didn't. Is that a denial reason? She never attempted suicide or anything of that nature.

If there was no attempted suicide and it was a long time ago, don't tell them anything about it. But if she is still depressed, on meds, or has scars, something that they will see or find out about, then I would tell them.
