Hello. My mother in law applied for her son over 21 last year. She is a permanent resident. Last week received a letter from USCIS saying the case was approved and was being sent to NVC. The case is F2B. Does anyone know what happens next. I don't think the priority date is sitting back at 2006 cases and this was filed on 2012.

They are currently processing cases with a priority date of 1 March 2006. The case, filed in 2012, will be processed to a certain point and then sent to storage. When the priority date is close to becoming current the case will be retrieved and processing resumed. Current wait time is about 6 years. And the child must remain single the entire time, if he marries he is not eligible to obtain a visa through an LPR parent.
