I checked online and it said "ready" like to schedule an interview but when I called there aren't any appointments there. He said there was one for Vancouver for 41 days but that I'd have to transfer the paperwork there. BAH. Does anyone know how soon appointments typically open up?

I'd recommend against transfering. By the time that is all done, you'd have been able to get an interview in Montreal.

Montreal for us was like 3 months out I think. We got approved NOA2 August 2nd I think and interivew was way in November. The week of Thanksgiving.

And that was like the only appointment left for another 3-4 months.

Good luck!!! Take the first available appt there is and run with it. I wouldn't go through the hassle of changing consulates

I heard back from Montreal through their public e-mail form in 13 days (including weekends).

I am also waiting to schedule an interview. The website hasn't had anything available and I have been compulsively checking for a day and a half now.

I checked your timeline... have you received/sent your Packet 3 yet? You need to complete this step and receive Packet 4 from Montreal before you can schedule your interview. EVEN IF the CEAC website says "Ready to Schedule" it is a generic message and does not apply to K1 applications (until you complete Packet 3, it is accepted by the Consulate and they issue a Packet 4 with instructions to schedule.)

thanks for the advice. I am getting SO frustrated. I don't know what to do at this point because still haven't gotten packet three and we filed this freaking petition is January so I'm impatient.

I did contact my congressman, thanks for the idea. He's been helpful so far and maybe this will speed things up.

I sure hope so.

The most frustrating thing for us, was when we went to the DHL/Loomis pick up to get my fiance (now husband)'s passport and visa package, and the damn company OPENED the sealed envelope that you ARE NOT supposed to OPEN! I was so mad! I went to the place (because I was still in Canada visiting when this happened) and told him that if we had to go to Montreal again (another 7 hour one way trip) he'd be paying for it. And it was a holiday week (Thanksgiving) when all this happened, so I FINALLY got a reply 2 days later from Montreal after sending them emails with the word EMERGENCY in it trying to figure out what to do!.

They said to send it back and it took them like 2-3 weeks to get it back to us. I was seriously so angry. I've never been that angry before in my life. And Montreal does not make it easy at ALL to get ahold of them.

Our AOS went flawlessly though. So once this is done, hopefully your AOS will go as smoothly as ours did. We got green card in less than 90 days from application. So good luck!!!

I had received packet 4 via email, and have been attempting to schedule an appointment on the site, but it just keeps saying appointments aren't available at this time. From what I've read all we can keep doing is refreshing the page. I'll take whatever appointment comes up! Just hoping they make some appointments available soon, because I feel like I am in limbo!

Also, would I have to apply to extend my i-129F petition if I am unable to schedule an appointment before my petition's expiry date?

you don't need to wait to receive the p3, make sure everything is filled out for them by downloading it yourself.

Please stop by the Canada forum and check out the Montreal K1 thread!! :D
